This was a drag and drop web page visual composer based on Firefox and the latest version I found is from over 13 years ago. If this project was continued could be so helpful for the indie web right now, specially for someone like me. I really struggled to get my page a descent layout by raw code but could just be so easy doing it directly on a visual program rather than writing code and see if it works in the live preview

    But responsive webs for smartphone are more harder to handle with pure code though? As far I know this was something to use for some like geocities, like, personal web, which I doubt is very common in smartphone

      For you as the user, yeah, but it’s still also significantly harder for these webpage builder programs to support responsive webpages.

      I think, there were lots of smaller companies that didn’t want to pay for a web developer, which used these webpage builder programs. Those cared about being viewable on mobile, so they probably stopped using these tools and did then pay for a web developer. And yeah, when there’s less interest in projects like KompoZer, the maintainers may not feel like they’re worth updating anymore…
