There are a lot of “And rightfully so.” comments here. And rightfully so.
I don’t even like beans, but if I did this sounds like a way better texture than just beans by themselves. I don’t understand why people who enjoy them act like putting it on toast is weird.

1·1 month agoOh yeah, that is exactly what I want out of a handheld! And thank you so much for the link, I didn’t realize the firmware these things ship with is so out of date. If I can get the battery percentage working thanks to this, you’re a real life saver.

3·1 month agoLooks nice. I am not a huge fan of the form factor though, I prefer the GBA style layout. I have a RetroSnap Play I got as a gift, I wonder how it compares. By biggest issue is it can never tell me the battery percentage, and it drains quickly when I close it with a game running. This combo sucks and makes me constantly nervous about keeping it charged so it won’t shut off in the middle of an important game.
Even the wrong non-isp routers are ridiculous compared to OpenWrt capable ones. You’re telling me I’m paying a huge premium to get a cutting edge Nighthawk, and then they shove a subscription service in my face to use any of these features? Let alone the security implications of having all your traffic routed through proprietary software. No thank you.

1·1 month agoThey do! It has been a while since I used one but there are ways to get them running well. I had to always check the ram limiting option and there were some permission issues I was running into when I used the default directory.
Then I also ran into issues getting the games to launch using Lutris, instead of adding an exe as a game I would have to run it through Lutris like it was an install exe every time… But I’m pretty sure I just had things misconfigured and was too lazy to try and fix it.

5·1 month agoHey if you’re interested I’m playing modded New Vegas check out a Tale of Two Wastelands. It’s a total conversion collaborative mod project that combines 3 and New Vegas into a single streamlined experience, and so much more.
Yeah but that falls firmly into the second camp of my argument. Maybe I didn’t make it super clear but I don’t think spoilers for the Matrix are a thing we should be complaining about, same for things like Star Wars and that applies doubly so to classic literature like Romeo and Juliet.
But it’s not logical to discredit somebody’s feelings for something like, and just throwing a random movie out there, Eight Below. It’s not a household title and there’s a copious amount of media out there to sift through, enough for you to be able to dedicate your life to movie watching and still not even scratch the surface.
And some people really care about their spoilers. It doesn’t really bother me, but I’ll defend those that it does; Especially when the typical argument discrediting their emotions is one grounded by emotion and not fact.
The age of something has no correlation to whether or not spoiling it for someone is valid. There’s youth being born today that obviously don’t have enough lived experience to watch every popular movie known to man. Even for an older audience, you’d have to dedicate all of your spare time watching movies just to keep up with the bare minimum of pop culture references.
I’d argue instead that the Matrix is so widely known and referred to that it’s akin to Star Wars; Someone, somewhere is going to ruin it for you eventually and we can’t stifle our own cultural spread by limiting what we make reference to.
That meme is making fun of the concept you’re pointing out.

6 with potential to spiral into 7. But all I’ve ever wanted in life is 2.
Hey, at least they used something based in reality opposed to the traditional falling Matrix text… Actually, on second thought, that might be a little bit cooler.
Well that was rather rude. Look closer, I’m pretty sure it’s just the wallpaper they’re using.

1·2 months agoI struggle with this every day. I have friends that are far from being the sharpest tool in the shed, but still friends. However they’re so emotionally unintelligent that they’re willing to tear apart any friendship they have over a single difference of opinion… Or by arguing against literal, undeniable facts. These relationships are exhausting to maintain.

This is perfect for me since I was banned from the NextDoor app for letting my community know the creature was hunting. I can host this for myself and others, and the nonbelievers can walk amongst it.
