  • If your scenario were true then we need to change the system, or how we teach our children what is right or wrong.

If I was Taylor Swift in your example, I would split all of the money with everyone who helped put my shows on, since its literally impossible for me to do it alone.

Part of the problem is that people see Taylor Swift as a one person act, when its hundreds. This puts her up on a pedestal, and everyone else is forgotten.

Taylor Swift isn’t THE problem, but she is absolutely a symbol of the problem.

  • Everyone has a choice, this isn’t slave labor. The most common argument I hear from these people is “I’m used to the amount I make, and I can’t go back now.” And again, they are not choosing between working at Meta and “being able to afford life”. These are supposed to be smart people, yet they actually can’t see any other choice?

Ego and greed drive people to these positions that they think they deserve, there is no moral justification here. Its a perfect example of the fuck-you-get-mine lifestyle that America promotes.

I’m not shocked that the people who work there have convinced themselves they are good people, but I am surprised at how many people on the outside will defend them.

  • It depends on the group of people, might be a generational thing, but it seems the people around me expect a daily flood of messages and to be replied back to within 15 minutes of whenever they decide to reach out. It feels like being an on-call therapist sort of, at least for me.
