7·18 hours agoThat’s a decent application of the technology. It’s still prone to make mistakes, but at least it’s being used for language.
And green is “well, there were some good things about WWII Germany”.
I guess mine didn’t get the message to sign up for the sharing.
Rights are actually privileges given by a society. They aren’t a right if they can be taken away. (-Carlin)
It’s clean air and water, not just air/water. Unless you’re in space or on the Moon.
Or children. Or anything where another sentient being is dependent in some way. Maybe not even some house plants.
Have a new orange. Can attest it’s true. But only part of the time, he’s a sweet boy sometimes too. Dear lord there’s no brains involved, I don’t know where the one cell idea comes from. Zero.

30·22 hours agoI don’t even have sympathy for people who put themselves in situations in the wild and get attacked, but for an animal that’s been abused for someone’s profit and enjoyment, I’m totally on the animal’s side. Their life is ruined - they probably can’t go back into the wild, and an attack like this will result in their death. So suffer or die? Hell of a way to live.

2·2 days agoI know, I see that all the time, people apologizing for their English second language use, while being far clearer in imparting their meaning (which is the only important thing in the end) than so many single use American posters.
Interesting. Also, how do you stop brain bleeds? :D
As a visitor, it helps to be an introvert, so I can pick up the signals long before it becomes a thing. My excuse to leave usually is something about having to get up early for work. Understandable and convenient.
As for being the host with that problem… well, that’s my secret. Don’t host. :p
Thanks for the input. That’s basically what I found on Wikipedia, but what was used in earlier periods seems to be beyond their scope. Linguistics is both fascinating and complicated. As a monolingual English writer I think I’d have trouble transitioning back to þ, but I love the idea of its use.
is the ending þ correct or is it only at the start of words? And would a serf use “remindeth” anyway?

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•AI Slop is poisoning the well of knowledge known as the internet
6·2 days agoThere may be some involved that see this as useful for their purposes. Let’s not fool ourselves though, the main reason has always been the money. Once it was realized this could be a huge profit scheme, that was the purpose. Anything else, good or bad, is a side effect of the money grab. Regulations should have stepped in long, long ago, but laws are always way behind technology.
A browser history may be embarrassing but at least you can explain it.

I mean, they’ll try. The one scene that comes to mind is Superman in handcuffs, then breaking them to prove he’s there of his own free will.
