A man trap isn’t a style of lid though, it’s more about how it’s installed. The seat and lid are installed just a little too far back, such that the lid leans against the cistern but when you lift the seat it never full reaches 90°, and just falls back down. So guys always have to hold the seat up while they pee, and it’s always down ready for women.

A soft close lid is the cure for this, actually. The tension in the soft close mechanism keeps the seat up.

Anecdotally it’s pretty accurate, toilets smell less when the lids are kept down. Smell strength is directly proportional to the amount of particles in the air.

I lived in a house owned by a female vicar once, and all the seats had man traps. This is where the lid will stay up, but when you lift the seat up and let it go it falls back down. These seats would end up pulling the lid down also.

After a while I noticed that these toilets didn’t actually smell that much, because the lid was pretty much always down. By preventing the piss and shit particles from getting up into the air by the lid, this meant that you didn’t breathe in piss and shit, which meant that you didn’t smell it.

It makes sense for Google to comply with the law. It would be good for Google to act in good faith, instead of facilitating frivolous spam complaints and preventing their legal resolution through subversive threats to the victim businesses on their platforms.

You say they need police “every time”, and yet the event you seem to be referring to was a one off screening of the Eurovision final. Israel’s participation in Eurovision has been highly controversial in recent years, so having a showing openly in support of them is of course going to be controversial as well. Not that the threats were warranted, but they should have been expected and they refused to take any measures themselves to address the risk they courted, hence the university following their duty of care and requiring additional security from the police.

I imagine most Jewish people in Europe feel about the same as most Russians in Europe feel about their cultural identity. Tolerated to an extent, but held under suspicion when expressed, due to a potential allegiance with a violent state. I imagine they feel like many Germans felt in the 1950s onwards.

A small number of events does not mean they are unsafe. Your example resulted in no deaths nor injuries and occurred 9 years ago.

I would agree that antisemitism is on the rise and attacks such as these are becoming slightly more common, as well as more day to day confrontations, but I don’t think it’s significant enough to say “Europe is unsafe for Jews”. It is concerning, and needs to be monitored, but by and large the region is not unsafe.

These two statements are not the same. The first is feeling unsafe, the second is that it is unsafe.

I have no doubt about the first one, Jewish children probably don’t feel safe. However I call into question your latter statement, and also question how much influence Israeli media has on making Jewish people feel unsafe outside of Israel.

Even with the OP story, they burned 4 private ambulances in a car park. It wasn’t attacking people, it was an attack against a business. That’s more like a protest than an assault on someone’s safety.

They’re not the ones destroying ambulances with people inside. They’re not the ones exploding pagers. They’re not the ones infiltrating the latest iPhones. Israel makes people all over the world feel unsafe.

So 69% of Gen Z that voted for Trump don’t regret it.

And that’s the biggest demographic that regretted it. The demographic with the smallest proportion that don’t regret voting for Trump.

DMCA isn’t all that unreasonable, though. It’s Google’s implementation of their DMCA policy that fails everyone. The article explains this further, with how instead of adhering to the 14 day restoration requirement in the DMCA law, Google took 46 days to restore this app last time.

The legal remedy here is for the developer to sue Google alongside the false DMCA company. Unfortunately, Google’s response to this kind of thing is to usually ban the developer from Google servers, thereby cutting their future income.

TL;DR Google is the biggest cunt in all of this.
