Technology@lemmy.world•Framework proved repairable laptops can work, but almost nobody is willing to buy oneEnglish
32·4 days agois that Apple silicon is just too good
- Pay TSMC a shit ton of money to be first in line
- Make your mouse chargeable from the underside and make the laptop so small that the fans will never be able to remove the heat for more than 5 minutes
- Price your product 3x what it’s worth
- People buy it anyway because they claim that they were chosen by Steve Jobs as messiah
- Repat every 5 years
- Profit
Why do 50 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and some unincorporated islands play against a country.
That sounds very unfair…
Claming demonic attacks without the popes approval? Well that’s sounds like a reason for a excommunication…

191·12 days agoWikipedia - is as always - doing a great job at gathering info and they wrote down what the party’s policies are.
IMHO what they propose makes no sense:
- (Massively) cut taxes
- Reimmigration
- Reduce the normal work week by 25%
How is that economy supposed to work? Where do you get the money from to finance this? Who should offset the missing work?
A $500k donation can bankroll your party for some time but certainly not an entire country…

Games@lemmy.world•PlayStation sales just had its worst May in 25 years, and Xbox's was the worst ever—Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch 2 just became the second-fastest-selling console in US history; and other insightsEnglish
4·13 days agoAnything comparable in terms of technology that is non-portable usually outperforms their portable counterpart by a lot.
That’s also true for a Switch which consumes up to 20W (while docked and not running on battery), whilst a PS5/XBOX uses up to 350W.
There is absolutely 0 chance that the Switch has better performance unless it’s technology is somehow 18 times more advanced, which is impossible in the span of only 5 years.
And if someone says But it has similar performance… Yeah maybe for 5-10 minutes until it overheats or the battery is empty (that’s also the reason why “Gaming” notebooks will always suck) or because the game running there was better optimized for it.
Congratulations you now have some free bugs on-board

you dont put raw uranium into a fission reactor
Yes that’s why Germany built enrichment facilities years ago: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urananreicherungsanlage_Gronau
US can not be considered as a reliable partner any more. Canada of course, but why rely on a dependancy?
- Germany had no active nuclear power plants for 3 years now.
- I think companies pretty much don’t care where they get their ore from as long as that country is not on a sanction list.
Okay are the “power plants that leaked thousands of tons of irradiated water into the environment” on this map? Because I see none there.
- Importing uranium is not technology
- As explained in https://lemmy.world/comment/24476026 most of the imports in the last years were from Canada / the US.
That is a map of reactors in europe. What has that to do with your claim?
In fact: a vast part of German nuclear technology derives from Russia
In what reality do you live? Did you forget that all nuclear plants (ignore the single one in East Germany that was immediately shut down after reunification) were built in West Germany?
Yeah they definetly stole all that
RussianSoviet technology from the exploded reactor that lacked a freaking containment back in the 80s…
all power plants along the rhine river leaked thousands of tobs of irradiated water into the environment, same goes for those at the neckar. those are the ones i know for a fact.
Do you actually have proof/a source for that?
