Partners for Democracy educational seminar on cryptocurrency:
Partners for Democracy (www.Partners4Democracy.org) is taking a break from our normal focus on electoral politics to offer a primer on Cyptocurrencies – what it is and what it isn’t. The timing is important - the Senate has already acted and the House is rushing to enact its own bill during “Crypto Week”. These bills purport to regulate this rapidly evolving industry but they are being highly influenced by those with a direct financial stake.
The stakes are high because the legislation will give the industry the momentum to grow more rapidly. The so-called Genius Act, which establishes the first federal framework for stablecoins, passed the Senate on June 17, 2025, with a 68-30 bipartisan vote. The House is due to take up the bill July 14-18.
Our webinar is designed to be a one-hour Crypto 101 short course for non-experts featuring speakers with deep experience in the field.
