No worries, I wasn’t really referring to the Anime of the Year award, it’s just another meaningless contest.
But sites like MyAnimeList, AniList or AniDB all have Frieren in Top 1.
It’s especially impressive on MAL because for the longest time Full Metal Alchemist was on no. 1 spot and some toxic fans review bombed every show that dethroned their favorite anime. There have been quite a few challengers that took no. 1 spot for a few days or weeks but in the end FMA always took back no. 1 spot… It was like that until Frieren arrived and then she just stayed there, at the top, never letting anyone take her place even for a day. At least until Frieren Season 2 have aired and now it’s on no. 1 spot lol
I feel like this show kinda is the next FMA, at least that’s what it reminded me of in terms of quality and emotions, and even the magic. But obviously slower and calmer.
I always thought that FMA is good but not Top 1 or even Top 10 good.
I had a few issues with this show, it’s always very amusing when I say what I didn’t like to a die-hard fan.

Yeah lol. I don’t watch a lot of anime, but this one is definitely special

The most annoying thing about FMA is that you need to know at which episode to switch from FMA to FMA:B lol, FMA still has the better beginning
