My friend’s brother (15M) wants to kill animals like rabbits and hamsters because he finds them stupid and annoying, is it normal that he wants to kill them? Keep in mind he doesn’t, but he wants to. should i be concerned?

He is in the peak age where serial killers and sociopaths start killing animals.
Killing animals without an actual reason is a big red flag for mental illness. Some form of mental healthcare could be critical intervention that may prevent something far worse than a random bunny being killed, he could end up a CEO if something isn’t done.

Its a red flag, but without more detail, its hard to say anything with certainty.
If he’s killing them because he is genuinely that bothered by them, and views them as pests in the same way people tend to consider mice or rats, then its weird and callus, but not necessarily concerning beyond that.
If he’s more looking for an excuse to kill them, and/or wanting to seek them out to kill, on the other hand, that crosses the line into very concerning.
I would not automatically jump to the worst case conclusion that he’s definitely exhibiting serial killer traits. Like, if he views them as pest animals, that’s not exactly normal and healthy, but it isn’t clear evidence of something much worse either.
Ideally, he should probably talk to a professional to help him deal with it in a healthy way, if he isn’t already. Telling your friend and/or their parents that you’re worried about him, and quoting specific things he’s said, is probably a good place to start.
Is he interested in hunting for food and sport or interested in harm and pain?
Define stupid and annoying? Does he live with these animals or is he going out of his way to tell your friend this for no reason? If both animals are drinking from water bottles, that sound can be extremely annoying when trying to sleep.
Also, there’s a big difference between “They’re so loud, I could kill them!” and going into detail about various methods for doing so. Rabbit stew has been pretty common in the past as well.

Not really. Teenagers (and young adults) tend to say a lot of stupid things but won’t do it.
You should be concerned if he brings it up regularly or goes in detailed discussion.
