Google or whoever, they have a gigantic map of all entirely or mostly stationary wifi and bluetooth connection points.
When you have your phone on, and drive or walk past them… your phone is recognizing it is within range of whatever stationary networks, has whatever signal strength to them, even if it isnt actually connecting to them.
So, you measure those too, and then combine that with the gps map, where the stationary wifi/bt locations have known locations.
a void is still data
Presise location has nothing to do with it, ur phone is emitting rf beacons all the time.
Scanning for wifi and Bluetooth… it’s like sonar, everyone sees you scanning.
Not many phones passive scan, they send out queries to make itself “helpful” to consumers
Thats… thats what ‘precise location’ is.

Whamo presto, your location is now more precise.
