Completely out of the loop, I randomly stumbled upon a Youtube video talking about it yesterday, and learnt a bit more about it.

Seems like the acting is good, with some very solid performances? Plot seems okay too?

I think I kind of ignored it as GoT finale season still disappoints even year later, but maybe this one is better?

    It feels quite different to GOT imo. The general budget increase compare to GOT (especially the earlier days) makes it feel much more serious (compare the throne room and the jousting tournaments from HOTD to GOT and you can just see it). It’s much more focused on one family than GOT, and is mostly well written - but S02 basically ended suddenly due to them trimming the episodes from 10 to 8 - which was very disappointing.

      Yeah I felt short changed as everyone was marching off to war. Hopefully the next season delivers on the actual dance of dragons.

      I like the writing, acting and general production values of the show though. Given the history is already set I hope it avoids the problem of the show runners outpacing GRRM’s books.
