Capitalism is like this everywhere. America isn’t alone in these actions. The UK, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany - literally all colonial powers have this history. And the overwhelming trend isn’t “the people of the nation supported this”. It was executives using the business as a non-governmental force to invade countries economically before controlling them politically. This practice is older than America.
