The interview then took a bizarre turn, with Huang admitting that he lacks some surprisingly basic life skills himself.

“There are a lot of skills that don’t matter,” he said. “My first confession, I actually don’t know my address… one day I had to pump gas — it was a few years ago. They needed my ZIP code, and I panicked. I didn’t know my ZIP code. I don’t know my telephone number. I forget these things. I can live with it.”

This is one of the people doing the most to destroy the world. Assuming he does not have dementia, what the fuck does he do all day? I thought he was just greedily selling the idea of not having to think, but it seems he genuinely loves not using his brain.

Probably isn’t the one driving, making calls or ordering stuff online. He has enough money to have a dedicated person for each of those.

It’s like how rich folk don’t know the price of milk. They simply have a hard working peasant doing all the shopping. They don’t understand what its like to have to worry about shit like that and barely see us as people because of it.

Its a hell of a burden to live in a society of incredible technologies and know you have to create boundaries for yourself and sacrifice the use of them because the companies that own the tech are all trying to enslave you and the only defense is your ability to not get in the van when they offer you the puppy.

I feel like this analogy applies to so much of what we participate in whether we want to or not—just by going around participating in your society you’re contributing to a chain of suffering the englobes the whole world.

Not to blame the individual consumer but it’s such a fucked up system to be born into. (We should try to improve things somewhat posting.)

That’s the machine, man and we’re all just sprockets. That also makes us capable of destroying it if all the sprockets just stopped working. General strike. But we somehow can’t figure that out. We don’t have to be killing the planet and causing mass sufferingm

Some of you will not be able to critically think,

But that is a sacrifice… I am willing to make.

My god how are we not all billionaires? These are legitimately stupid people who are the sole argument for bringing the r-word back until we classify capitalism as a mental disease

I do truly think it’s a form of mental illness that our current societies just so happen to reward.

Like a healthy person does not need or want a billion dollars, let alone are they willing to do what it takes to excoriate it from their own damn home.
