I own and use several Chipolo tags, but their normal ones with replaceable batteries. They work, but I don’t know how I feel about tags that have non-removable batteries. The first Tile trackers were like that, and they just end up as e-waste as the battery degrades.
Same, I’ve had my chipolo for nearly two full years now and haven’t needed to replace the batteries despite them being in constant use. Especially on my keys which must get rung about once a week actually never mind I just checked the app there and the keys died a few days ago. But still, nearly two years and a quick swap of a button battery to get them going again is probably better than 6 months where the USB port or the battery could easily degrade.
I’ve had Chipolo trackers for 3+ years and Tile trackers (the ones with replaceable batteries) for over 6. No issues with any of them. You change the battery when needed, and you’re good.
Side story: My Garmin heart rate monitor finally had its battery changed… well over a year later. I’m looking at new models to compare, and they all have built-in, rechargeable batteries that last a whole two months! 🙄

Their previous model for the card shaped one had a non-replaceable and non-rechargeable battery
That’s awful.
I remember the first Tile I got used a “replacable” battery, but it had to go back to Tile so they could do it.
It must have been unsustainable, because newer models had user replacable batteries.
That said, coin cell batteries can be really thin, and I’d get one of these card shaped trackers if they used one, even if a little thicker.
