    Many moons ago I watched a documentary(?) that more-or-less followed Matt and Trey for the entire creation process of an episode, from writer’s room to air. If I remember right, they were still changing things right before they sent it off to the network just before the deadline. Sounds like they haven’t changed things much, hah.

      I think a few times over the 10-20th seasons. I remember it not being a big deal because they had released a film around then showing how they literally make it up to the very last minute of airing so a lot of longtime fans just shrug off a delay and expect even more recent events to be in the final show.

      Actually, I think this is only the 2nd time (not accounting for this new season where almost every episode was “delayed” before they just accepted a 2 week schedule).

      First time it happened was on Goth Kids 3 because of a power outage.
