Hehe. Seems the program directors at Sat1 felt the “Fremdscham” as well… They did the entire first season, though. Now that you mentioned it, seems they moved it to Sat.1 Comedy after 2 episodes and aired the remaining 4 episodes there.
I still think the premise is somewhat alright. The concept of doing adaptations has worked out well for shows like The Office or Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? It’s just that people need to put in effort to do an adaptation… And Germans can do nerdy comedy, these days we have IT-Praxis Dr. Bauer, and that’s both an original idea(?) and hilarious.
