  • Somebody randomly told me a few weeks ago that the mystery flavor of airheads was never really a single flavor, just a random mix of the end of one flavor of taffy on the assembly line and the begining of a different new flavor. So even though this is a shitpost it’s both accurate and oddly poetic.

    It’s like a metaphor for how the entire idea of race seems to have originally been a social construct with no real basis in significant differences other than providing a distraction and false justification for individuals at the top of a hierarchy to maintain inequality, exploitation, and social stratification. And since the human lizard brain loves a distraction and can be easily exploited by targeted advertisement, we see branding works because people keep buying it.

    Anyway, merry Christmas/happy holidays and if we as a civilization make it into the new year and/or any years beyond that point, I hope we can start paying attention.

  • I mean Yuriev also didn’t predict Putin tag teaming with the President of the U.S. to double cross Europe (and potentially China, Iran, and each other if necessary bc that’s just how the survival of the fittest/natural order/heirarchy of conservatives and fascists works).

    The point isn’t to read this novel and cower in fear, the point is that they were arrogant enough to publish their playbook for the invasion of Ukraine before actually invading Ukraine.

    It turns out the E.U. is more than happy to enforce sanctions on Russian oil, and Trump claims to be on board as well. However, Trump also seems to be making some suspicious moves in Venezuela (and using Chevron and the U.S. military to do it), that should probably make anybody question how onboard he truly is. Russian oil assets, Chevron, Saudi Arabia, and Ghost tankers

    Not to mention, days before Trump decided to send the governor of Louisiana to Greenland, a deal fell through, which would have decreased Hungary’s dependency on Russia’s energy resources, and replaced them with resources exported directly from Louisiana via Chevron. Shortly after the deal (which was specifically created to appease the E.U.) fell through, Orbán suddenly seemed to get cold feet about doing anything that could be perceived as going against Russia.

    So that leaves the question of where will Chevron be getting these resources from if not Louisiana? Possibly from those seized ghost tankers in Venezuela? In theory, if Chevron had to dip into Russia’s “seized” oil now because of the Louisiana deal falling through, would Louisiana plan to pay Chevron back in the future? Or would they have to pay Russia?

    If the governor of Louisiana tries to take over Greenland, does Greenland end up as collateral in the debt Louisiana/the U.S. might now owe Russia? Who the fuck knows? The governor of Louisiana being made envoy to Greenland definitely seems oddly timed to just be a coincidence, but there’s so much weird and shady shit going on right now, it’s hard to even keep track.

    When somebody publishes their playbook saying “this is how I will win,” but then claims they aren’t really following their playbook, you should probably be skeptical at the very least and assume they probably are sticking to the same overall big picture goals, even if a few details and strategies change along the way.

    Russia doesn’t want to take over all of Europe. We should believe this because Putin says so?

    Ok…

    Trump isn’t trying to take over Greenland for his boyfriend, he just really loves spreading freedom and democracy. That’s why he was doing such a good job of that in the U.S., he had to branch out to Venezuela before Greenland?

    Ok…

    If you’re willing to believe either of those statements, you might want to brush up on your Russian (if you don’t already speak it).

  • Yuriev, a businessman and former deputy speaker of the state Duma who died in 2019, was a member of the political council of the Eurasia Party, which envisions an essentially feudal social order overseen by a political class that rules through fear.

    As Khapaeva points out, Yuriev died in 2019 and was relatively unknown outside of Russia.

    However, he did pop up in an odd place in the U.S. shortly before his death:

    Who Is Konstantin Nikolaev? Putin Ally Behind Mike Johnson Campaign Donation

    News of money previously given to House Speaker Mike Johnson’s congressional campaign by Russian nationals has re-emerged after the Republican rejected a $95 billion foreign aid bill passed in the Senate.

    In 2018, a group of Russians were able to donate to Johnson’s bid for the Louisiana seat he eventually won as the money was funneled through the Texas-based American Ethane company.

    While American Ethane was co-founded by American John Houghtaling, at the time it was 88 percent owned by three Russian nationals—Konstantin Nikolaev, Mikhail Yuriev, and Andrey Kunatbaev. Nikolaev is known to be a top ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

    A spokesperson for Johnson previously assured in 2018 that the campaign returned the money that was given to them by American Ethane once it was “made aware of the situation.” There was no indication that Johnson’s campaign team willfully broke federal law, which makes it illegal for a campaign to knowingly accept donations from a foreign-owned corporation, a foreign national, or any company owned or controlled by foreign nationals.

  • Honestly, wouldn’t even be surprised. Every modern day endless war needs a false flag attack to get the patriotic vitriol pumping.

    And normally, that’s something you do when support for your administration isn’t already so fucking low it seems like it couldn’t possibly get any lower, and oh my God how can we seriously not even be one year in at this point, what tf does he have planned to create the illusion of a united front against a threat to America?

  • Idk how any of this works legally, but use your enemies weaknesses to your advantage

    1. They have plenty of might, but intelligence is in very short supply. When they want to provoke a response always be sure to use your brain before brawn.

    2.Never forget they rely on playing the victim. The harder you make it for them to sell the narrative that this is anything other than a very expensive, very unnecessary, and very unwelcome invasion, the more support they lose.

    1. Hit them in their pockets where it actually hurts. Which ties back to point 2. They don’t give a fuck about democracy and the American people. They care about the corporations and their donations. Boycott the shit out of any corporation that doesn’t stand up to this bullshit.

  • That was my thought too. Wasn’t sure if you meant the confederates that have taken over the U.S. government and are trying to help Russia create it’s 3rd empire? Because they haven’t turned us into the American Federation. (At least not yet anyway).

    A Map of Russia’s Third Empire (2053) The predictions in Putin’s favorite book

    It’s the year 2053, and the world looks very different from today. There are no more than 5 superstates left on the face of the planet:

    • an American Federation, covering the whole of North and South America;

    • an Indian Confederation, consisting of present-day India and Birma/Myanmar (Bangladesh seems to have disappeared under the sea);

    • an Asian republic dominated by China, further composed of Mongolia, Japan, Papua New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand;

    • an Islamic Caliphate, occupying the whole of Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Indonesia;

    • and the Russian Empire, uniting Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, all of Europe and Greenland.

    All states except the Russian Empire own a slice of Antarctica (I suppose that in exchange, Russia rules the North Pole all by itself).
