Knowing a company is shady is not the same as catching them red-handed with forensic evidence and forcing their internal systems into an admission. Cynicism doesn’t hold corporations accountable; evidence does. 😆

The title is literally a legitimate question asking whether people are aware of this massive backend data retention happening right under their noses. If you care more about minor cross-posting formatting than a trillion-dollar corporation using a fake ‘Delete’ button to hoard everyone’s private data, that is entirely on you. I completely understand your frustration, and thank you for sharing your story. What happened to you with Meta is exactly why so many people give up. The authorities are notoriously slow and often just take Big Tech’s word for it without doing any actual technical audits. It’s pathetic.
