In the UK where healthcare is free, I remember my parents got me a private diagnosis, because NHS waiting times are an absolute fucking joke (I was due to be waiting years for an assessment), we ended up waiting about 8-9 months since my referral for my assessment during which my parents went through some bs parenting course.

The overall cost was about £2-3k for the diagnosis itself and for receiving prescribed medication the state bears most of the cost leaving prescription meds much cheaper (and free for people under 16 and students under 19) so until I turned 19 they were free after which prescription meds costed £9.90 as is every other prescription nationwide.

Refills are simple enough, you notify your prescribing dr when you’re running low and they should renew your prescription (providing your timing isn’t suspicious) since they are obviously controlled substances.
