Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•"Valve’s new Steam Controller has a major problem for PC games not on Steam"English
6·11 days agoYou bring up a lot of good points, but something I would to add is that there is a reason why you wouldn’t want it to act like a standard xinput device without steam.
One big usecase for the steam controller is as the primary (and possibly only) input for a HTPC (such as the steam machine). So having the controller act as a basic keyboard and mouse without steam (ie: lizard mode) allows you to navigate menus that a standard controller can’t such as pre-boot Operating System menus or BIOS menus without having to breakout a keyboard and mouse.

75·2 months agoI’m not sure if it’s the same scientists, but the YouTube channel The Thought Emporium has an ongoing series about growing neurons to play retro games (such as OG DOOM).
The playlist of this series is fittingly called Building the Torment Nexus.

If you’re interacting with a command line terminal frequently then yes, since Ctrl+Shift+C is the shortcut for copy in most terminal emulators as Ctrl+C is used for terminating the current running command.
