Wait, it runs on Nextcloud? I need to look into that…

RetroGaming@lemmy.world•The C64 and ZX Spectrum Are Getting Their Own Clamshell Handhelds | Retro HandheldsEnglish
3·2 months agoYes, but can you imagine putting a tiny joystick on there, which somehow fits inside a clamshell? Maybe if they went for a 4:3 screen, they could use the extra space for something.

71·2 months agoI don’t need it, I have their full size C64, but I would love to have it, despite the fact that I can play it on the go on a bunch of retro handhelds already. My wallet will probably get over it at some point… It does spark joy…

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Youlag (v4.1.0): Modernize FreshRSS for viewing YouTube and articlesEnglish
1·6 months agoI’ve been using FreshRSS for years, because of it’s flexibility and customization options. I switched to Nextcloud News for a while, since I’m already running Nextcloud anyhow and it’s convenient, but it was far too buggy and missed some quality of life features FreshRSS has.
Also, I use Capy Reader on Android and that app is just perfect, with the same flexibility, plus it lets you read articles in the app, without opening the web page.

1·6 months agoI am on the latest version, and my settings appear to be correct. I also tried disabling all other plugins, but to no avail. Maybe I’ll dive into it this weekend, if I feel like it.
Thanks for responding anyhow.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Youlag (v4.1.0): Modernize FreshRSS for viewing YouTube and articlesEnglish
10·6 months agoI like the idea of having YouTube in my FreshRSS instance, but I can’t get the setting correct. I selected that I only want the layout in my YouTube category, but it’s still everywhere. Also, when I open a YouTube item, it looks the same as any other article. I do have a bunch of other layout related extensions enabled, so it might be because of that.
I like it, but I’ll need to play with it a bit more and try to get it to work.
I used to play Zorro on the C64 as a kid, and this game reminds me of it. I love the great stuff Psytronik releases. I haven’t tried Sherwood yet, but I’ll probably give the demo a go on my TheC64 during the holidays and buy it if it’s as much fun as it looks.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•which news aggregator on mobile can you recommend?
61·9 months agoI’ve been using Capy Reader as a frontend for FreshRSS for a while now, and I love it. It’s flexible and intuitive.
It’s not useful to discover new content though, I guess you’ll need a different solution for that. I usually just search a topic and RSS and try some feeds. I keep the ones I like and remove the rest.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What are you guys using to sort and name music?English
2·10 months agoI get most of my music from Bandcamp and I use Jellyfin as my streaming service. I wrote a script where I fill in the artist, album title and the download link. It then creates the relevant directories, downloads and unpacks the files and then fixes the metadata using beets with the last.fm plugin to get the genre tags. Jellyfin then does the rest.
I’ve been wanting change the script up, so that it creates the directories after the metadata is correct, but I’ll need an evening of hyper focus for that.
Now I’m curious what movie this is from

Why bother reinventing Nextcloud?
And I’m not knowledgeable enough to verify whether it’s AI or not, but I doubt that one person can build that.
