Science Memes@mander.xyz•Increasing the surface area of a substance increases its reaction rate. Proof by garlic.English
19·15 hours agoWhy are you keeping garlic in an aquarium? They’re terrestrial pets.
There’s some really cool ceramic tech that’s making it marginally better, but overall, sapphire is the best way to increase scratch resistance, but it’s brittle.

You do realise that there isn’t just one kind of content right?
Not trying to change your mind, I just feel like that’s a very narrow minded view of what is a vast wealth of human knowledge in video form.
I mainly watch tech/science stuff, super interesting and definitely has taught me stuff. Theres years worth of educational content on there.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•How do you healthcheck your containers?English
3·5 days ago2, no, just check the docs.
3, yup
You can make your own health checks in docker compose, so for instance, I had etcd running provided by another company, and I just set up the check in compose using the etcdctl commands (etcdctl endpoint health).
https://docs.docker.com/reference/compose-file/services/#healthcheck
Phone screens don’t really get more durable because as the tech improves, they make the glass thinner to cut on weight and overall thickness.
I always wanted one of these

Making, having and keeping friends is hard work.
I live in a super antisocial country and in 5 years I was able to make 15+ friends, a lot of them are close friends. Not all do i see every day, but I try to put in effort to keep in touch with them.
I worked really hard on getting out and meeting people, and it paid off.

3DPrinting@lemmy.world•A Simple Software Change to Add "Bricklayer" Mode to Slicers Delivers Truly Water-Tight 3D PrintsEnglish
1·14 days agoI like it the most, if you’re confident with 3d printers and how they work, I’d recommend figuring out how to get it to display all the settings, as it hides a lot on the default config. Theres also a plugin that provides good tool tip help for every setting, including pictures.
I also have a way later cycle, I do well with sleeping between 1 and 9/10
God damn, I can’t find any solid research that backs up the claims of it being bad for you, granted I didn’t do a thorough search, but I did still look and came out empty handed.
What if I’m used to eating late?

31·16 days agoSame, I don’t get the popularity of Prusa Slicer and definitely not Bambu/Orca slicer, those last ones are awful.
