When rumpy won in 2016, after my initial shock I thought, well maybe he will make it so bad, we will collectively be forced to see the truth, forced to come together and actually have a positive change for the working people.

I didnt know then, that I’d be fearing for the loss of democracy as a whole in 2025, but I think my initial thought still stands.

Maybe this wouldn’t be the outcome if Harris won, but if the silver lining is people start paying attention, I’m happy for it.

I keep writing my reps about how much I approve of Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez, and I’ll now mention Zohran too!

I live in a blue state near NY. Im tired of the Dem party not backing actual progressive candidates.

I don’t know many of my son’s peers, who do have a pc at home.

I had computer instruction in middle school while attending a title 1 rural school. Idk

Maybe both things are true. Wasn’t trying to argue or “be proven wrong” just stating why many children may only know Chromebook use, and it’s not thier fault

I was simply stating why the kids only know Chromebooks. Many poor communities, mine and myself included, have households that don’t have computers at home.

The schools give each kid a Chromebook at the beginning of the year. So it’s the only computer access these kids get.

There isn’t instruction on how PCs work on a base level in my kids middle school, and no computer lab to experiment with. So they only know how to navigate Chromebooks, because that’s their access level

And I mean, They got rid of home economics for the computer lab back when I was a kid. I don’t understand why you brought up the 70s or whatever, I’m aware times and education instruction changes sure, you don’t need to be rude.

That’s why they only know what Chromebook offers, they have them in school.

My kid’s school doesn’t have any kind of computer instruction, no computer lab, it’s all Chromebooks.

I have participated in No Mow May for three years now. I also have a spot in the yard I let be free (weeded it for invasives) for the same amount of time.

This summer, for the first time since I have lived here, exsists an abundance of fireflys in my yard. They are everywhere, in a way I’ve never seen since I was a child.

No Mow May, (even if just a part of your yard) gives insects a place. Bugs live in the leaves and natural debris, by keeping it undisturbed, from fall to winter is important for many bugs’ survival.

If you like bugs, consider dedicating space in your yard for them to live. Don’t keep grass in the typical american perfect lawn way. I suggest not to spray, and look at native grasses and plants first when seeking your landscaping needs.

I’ve noticed a real difference this year in my yard. Maybe its some coincidence, I don’t know. Either way I’m happy to see lightning bugs again
