  • The pacing has become so disjointed that it’s starting to undercut the tone. It feels like major developments are unfolding, but the narrative hasn’t laid the groundwork to make their significance truly land. Up until the reveal of the Monster Protection Society, the story did a strong job of creating suspense and tension in a way that felt right for a thriller. This arc, in theory, should be the moment where everything crashes down and the full spectacle finally erupts.

But that spectacle isn’t hitting the way it should, it’s not visually or emotionally compelling. My interest is still there, but it’s largely riding on the investment I made earlier in the characters and plot. Without that foundation, I’m not sure it would be enough to hold my attention.

  • The moment Eiko appeared on screen, I had a strong feeling she was the nurse—just with a new, shorter haircut. And when Osanai brought up that one of Eiko’s options had been to kill Kobato, she tried to deny it… but didn’t she already run someone over and flee the scene? It feels like a major twist is still on the way.

So far, we have Eiko Hisaka (who’s actually the nurse), Shotaro Hisaka, and the man who falsely posed as Shotaro’s father. Then, right after that revelation, the news drops that someone has been arrested for the hit-and-run and other related crimes.

Shotaro’s reaction to Kobato uncovering the truth about his fake father was anything but pleased. From the way the Hisaka family has been behaving, it’s obvious they don’t want the investigation going any further. It definitely feels like a messy family situation—maybe involving step-siblings, half-siblings, or fallout from a divorce. And whatever went down in the past, it seems like Kobato is being made the scapegoat.

  • The most stealthy ghostly phantomy assassin tactic in the world: spam grenades. Is the reason “nobody has seen him” because he just blinds everyone with grenades? Where does he even keep all those grenades? Also his weakness is a necklace they have never even called attention to in 10 episodes. Why did Doig even accomplish by surrendering? Also how does shooting a tire cause it to burst into flames? Also Eleina is on a scooter, gets off the scooter to then run after a van? Is the fever frying her brain?

This shit just beyond salvageable, 2 episodes left.

  • a good anime with fantasy, slice of life, and drama. Solid characters, but Meg was by far the best thanks to her charisma. At first, I thought there would be drama in every episode since she needed tears to break the curse, but that wasn’t really the case.

So it was Eldora who killed Meg’s parents… The question is why? it was out of revenge, but what exactly led to their deaths? The final episode wrapped up the season nicely with Meg deciding to learn more about her past. I don’t know if the novel sells well enough for us to get a second season, but who knows, right? Final score: 8.

  • How is this show so incredible? Banger episode after banger episode, and each one fantastic in its own way.

A nearly dialog free episode of Yachiyo taking time off to stroll through the ruins of Tokyo only to find an alien pegasus, get bitten by it for another secret quest, and then fly back to the hotel on it? Yes, please.

She was adorable in the various civilian wear all episode, too.

Interesting developments with the alien plant.

  • another middle-aged-man anime with a hint of harem, lol. The story is pretty basic, not much different from other shows with the same premise. The action, even though it used some disguised 3D, wasn’t bad. The characters are quite charismatic, but by far the best student was Lisandra. In terms of character development, I think only Mewi really had any, she went from being aimless to becoming Beryl’s adoptive daughter and had a clear personality shift. As for the main guy Beryl and the other students, they didn’t really get much meaningful development. The ending was okay, but the very last minutes could’ve been better. I’d give it a 7 out of 10. If I’m not mistaken, season 2 was already announced, right?

  • In terms of mystery, I’m not sure which season was the best, but overall I still think the first one was the strongest, it didn’t have any bad characters like this one did. Urino was trash and Kobato’s girlfriend was just useless LOL. Seriously, those two added nothing to the season, and I still don’t get why they were even on the season’s poster.

Anyway, the arson case was okay but way too predictable by halfway through it was already obvious that Osanai wasn’t the culprit. Now that last case? That one was exceptional, mixing past and present with clever dialogues and riddles. Great ending, and Osanai already threw another mystery at Kobato LMAO. That girl is insane. This show definitely deserves a season 3. Solid 8/10.

  • An insane 1v1(Moi vs Wolf/Keigo) for an anime of this scale! The mastermind witch’s motives were pretty generic, but it did hint that someone else is pulling the strings. Keigo’s wish to heal his mother was genuinely emotional, such a sad scene… but in the end, everything turned out fine. And now we’ve got another official member in the group!

  • Such a wholesome finale! Seeing Riri and Fuyune make up was really heartwarming, and I’m so proud of Chika for getting her oneshot published. Her journey across Japan was filled with beautiful scenery, nice people, and quiet moments that really hit home. It reminded me how sometimes we just need to step out of our comfort zone to rediscover ourselves. I didn’t expect to love this show so much, but it really became one of my favorites this season. Fingers crossed for a season 2, I’d love to go on another journey with Chika!

ps: and created a yuri manga in the end

  • Damn it, the human immune system is just terrible. Still, if humans do return and set up a research facility on Earth, maybe they could start retraining their immune systems. Over a few generations, they might eventually adapt and be able to live on Earth again. I’m just glad we got a happy ending instead of some dark, existential one.
