I know I’ve heard a lot of people complain about manga and novel titles and heard hearsay that the current trend was driven by a platform which didn’t have any sort of tagging system (thus necessitating putting a breakdown of the story in the title itself), but I’m curious how much of this is driven by the same problems we’re having with Western media titles – namely, now that we’re in a media production golden age, a lot of the simpler, snappier titles have already been taken by litigious, soulless bastards (a good example is the video game Prey).

I was gonna ask how one person’s eye surgery was putting an entire fighting game on hiatus, then I realized I was playing a game of telephone with my own brain.
I saw Grand Blue and confused it with GranBlue Fantasy which I then confused with BlazBlue.
