Newspapers/websites just want to make money and people tend to read articles that frighten them and/or make them angry. Be careful with what you read/watch and verify with actual statistics.

I put myself on a news-diet a few months back and it massively improved my life. Instead of worrying about the world burning and feeling unable to do anything about it, I have much more energy to actually do things I like and/or find important and am also much more able to invest in deep relationships with friends. I cannot recommend it enough.

Important news will get to you anyway, there is no need to check news outlets every 5 minutes.

Ventilation is very important to keep the air inside breathable and to keep things like mold outside.

I like to show the importance of this by lighting some incense (or vaping a bit) to show how the smoke just does not go away with the window closed. The same happens with the CO2 that comes out of your mouth, you just don’t see it in that case.

Exceptions would be when your building has some other ventilation system built in, but the smoke would show that.

Overhere I always have some form of ventilation open (our house has these ventilation thingies above the windows, that I get angry about when my partner closes them).

Yeah so this wasn’t easy for the Netherlands either. They just started trying earlier, so they had more time to fail and try again. This would maybe not fly anymore in a newly designed street in the NLs now, but it sure as heck looks a lot like some older roads in the Hague that are still waiting on their update to the new guidelines.

The only thing you could maybe argue is why they are not just asking for a bit of help from a Dutch road designer during the design process. I mean, the knowledge is all there already, why not use it? 😉

Why a battle? Why not both? More cyclists=less drivers=more space for remaining drivers + happy people because they are cyclists.

It’s available in some places in NL, like bigger Albert Heijn supermarkets and some cafes, but not too many.
