Someone I’m close with owns and operates a restaurant that puts out high quality food, but at home they mostly live off of grocery store frozen pizza and rotisserie chicken.


I do this a lot. It took me until my later 30s to fully recognize the pattern. I used to spend so much damn money on hobbies right away only to become disinterested later. I do this with projects at work sometimes where the end part feels like a soulless slog of torture to get done.
I have a friend who is hard of hearing (completely deaf in one year, has 30% hearing in the other), and if her headset malfunctions it’s the only way she can hear a phone call.
Granted, most people who do this in public this isn’t their situation.
