That’s what I always imagined when the idea of self-driving cars first came up - y’know, something to prevent 50 car pile-ups, that sort of thing. Not this BS :/ Now I just want a better bus system and less cars so there can be more bikes.

That sounds incredible (even if I had to google a lot of the terms haha). Would you do me a big favor and make a post about this in https://slrpnk.net/c/selfhosting if you haven’t already? We would love to have you over on slrpnk.net, where we enjoy the blend of tech + the environment and hate AI. I would post myself but I’m just now investigating personal websites and switching to Linux so I don’t think I’d be able to do your project justice.
Sounds cool as hell! Talk to me about Iocaine - is this for people who self-host or can I put this on my websites somehow?
Tell me more about the poisoned text? I keep a site for a freelance job and I would love to fill it with poison.

Honestly I think we need to use this more. If religion means an org doesn’t have to pay taxes, then my mutual aid organization is a church now. Homeless shelter is a church now. I have a right to peaceful protest? How about my right to hold a sit-down prayer service in the street?
So yeah, I’m all about AI exemption for religion. Looks like I’m about to become extremely devout! C:

Yeah absolutely. It’s not self driving and they shouldn’t make people think it’s self driving. Fuck Tesla

I hear that. I think Tesla’s “self driving car” bullshit needs to stop until we have actual self-driving vehicles… but then, I don’t want self driving cars, I want public transport that functions so that we don’t need or want self driving cars

Okay let’s be clear that I fuckin hate AI but this still seems like user error rather than the car’s autopilot killing someone? Like… you can still slam the brakes even if you’re in autopilot mode. It’s basically souped up cruise control.
Again, I hate AI passionately, but let’s try to use our higher reasoning too, or else we’re no better than the assholes who ask ChatGPT for relationship advice and basic math

The kids are alright

not related to dereferencing but I’ve always said “ess-see-pee one seven three” and imagining it pronounced as “scip” made me take psychic damage
like it makes a ton of sense it just got me XDD

thanks man I appreciate it! C:

You make a great point. I am not vegan but I have a condition that makes me allergic to red meat and mammal products of any kind such as milk, cheese etc. I am extremely grateful for my oat milk and potato-based vegan cheeses.

I’m quite similar but due to health reasons - I can no longer safely eat red meat of any kind soooo I don’t XD so by complete chance my diet is primarily vegetarian with some occasional chicken, turkey and fish. I’m also dairy free for the same reason. I actually really dislike chicken and turkey from a taste standpoint (and ethics standpoint) so would prefer fish but it’s so expensive ;-;

I would love to see this data if you’re willing to do the research again! Much more likely to trust you, a slrpnk fellow, than Woody Harrelson

I think he’s right. We should all change to a 100% Billionaire diet…

The connections we have with individual people, as individuals, are world-changing. Think small. Don’t think about fixing the world, think about fixing things for your loved ones, your local community, your town, etc.
There’s an idea I read about recently in Emergent Strategy by adrienne maree brown which says to consider a flock of starlings, wheeling and swooping above a field. There is no leader; each starling acts only in accordance with the starlings that are nearby, yet all together they create a beautiful, intricate, coordinated pattern.
Be a starling and act according to your nearby starlings. Change is made by a thousand small actions, a thousand small starlings becoming a whole flock. I don 't think I’m doing the idea justice here, but it’s brought me a lot of comfort <3

What… the fuck? Like… who enforced this? Because a computer by itself can’t do anything, like a robot didn’t burst out of the ceiling and snatch them up. Like. It doesn’t matter what the computer thinks, humans have to carry out the actions… so who the fuck looked at the computer saying “this infant is a terrorist” and went “yeah sounds about right”?
In the lower right quadrant over the bottom-most yellow mushrooms there seems to be a brown mushroom cap… growing out of another mushroom cap? Or hovering above a disconnected stem? Can a cap sort of grow from another cap? (Genuine question, I know nothing about mushrooms). My friend group would really love this one since they do all kinds of foraging and stuff but I’m not going to subject them to an AI image if I can help it, you know how it is
(Jokes aside, is this image AI generated? It’s hard to tell but it seems like it might be so I don’t want to reshare it…)
Anyone know where to purchase Japanese knotwood rhizomes? Asking for a friend.
