My dog does this. She knows that I can control the temperature inside. She knows I can control the wind (ceiling fan). She knows I can summon rain in some instances (showers).
Sometimes when it rains she acts like she wants a walk and we get suited up and I open the door and she stands there at the threshold and looks at me like I am dumb because I won’t shut the rain down so we can walk.

Nah. When reelecting Trump, America acknowledged that our country will collapse with the oil industry. We’ll fight a war to preserve our hegemony over oil, and the resultant oil crisis will be the final straw that gets everybody else in the rest of the world that have money to buy a new vehicle committed to electrification.
It is the Iron Law of Institutions in macro scale. The oil industry and American car companies would rather see America suffer and lose its position in the world, than to help facilitate a transition to some other energy source that would threaten their own entrenched power.
Genuinely worried that they’ll dress up some 40 year old to look like him, and say that Elon’s med-bed rejuvinated his body. Christians will declare it the second coming of Trump and make him King of all Christiandom. The rest of all of our lives will be a world war led by religious nuts to bring the word of DJT to world.
I mean our SecDef has a crusader cross tatoo.
No. If he said that he would pay people money of his own, on the condition that they vote for his party - like Elon Musk did in Wisconsin in 2024 - then that would be election interference.
More candidates should be running on non-means-tested cash payments to all Americans - rather than just more tax breaks for rich people.
Most elected officials would argue that we can’t make these kinds of cash payments to American taxpayers.
