  • Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes is reliable to fuck me up a bit. Devastating, confessional piano rock.

The Cure - Disintegration. This album is winter in musical form to me.

My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade. The album is a banger, but it’s more because of what was going on at the time than the album itself. Panic disorder sucks.

For a bad time, there’s always Nine Inch Nails, The Downward Spiral. I’ve had to avoid it recently because it cuts too close. Broken is perfect for a half hour of rage.

It’s a shame how many records have been ruined by artists’ misbehavior, otherwise would have included:

    Arcade Fire - Funeral

Brand New - The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me

  • The scammers didn’t get what they wanted, but they did get into my account. I got a call claiming to be from T-Mobile telling me that someone was trying to order an iPhone online to a second address and it was flagged as potentially fraudulent. They had all my basic account information, so it seemed like they were just asking me for verification, but really they were fishing for the additional details to confirm the order, not cancel it. It was when they tried to change my password and T-Mobile texted me the security code that I realized what was happening. They must have gotten my username and password from a data leak. They hung up when I started asking for proof that they were really T-Mobile. I’m glad that they didn’t get all the way, but I’m still embarrassed that they got as far as they did.

I like black licorice overall, but your description reminded me of my own worst candy experience. I brought these black licorice cat coins at World Market. The cat shapes were appropriate in the worst way. They tasted the way cat pee smells. It was completely unexpected and overpowering. I looked at the ingredients, and there was fucking ammonia in them. Horrifying. I will never understand how anyone could enjoy a candy that tastes like snacking out of the cat box.
