Progressive Politics@lemmy.world•2008 Hillary Clinton Says As President She Would Attack Iran At any state of Building nuclear weapons
205·4 days ago“…oh yeah? Well Hillary bla-bla-bla and Biden bla-bla-bla, how about them apples?”
It’s ridiculous to see the mental gymnastics of the cult members at play. All while we’re still dealing with the aftermath of the two wars George W. Bush started, while he and his friends were placing some heavy investments in Halliburton and Blackwater. And coincidentally, the stock market is making leaps and bounds nowadays. Wonder who have been calling their brokers lately.
In computing and house maintenance I have learned an important thing: the tiniest amount of water in the wrong place can wreak absolute havoc.
Hmm…splashing around holy water in the server room, what could possibly go wrong? 😬

Trailers for movies, television and games@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Lord of the Flies (2026, showrunners Jack Thorne and Marc Munden)English
1·13 days agoWeird, because my first attempt was a VPN connection to the UK, it didn’t work. Might be that Netflix just messed up, it wouldn’t be the first time.

Traditional Art@lemmy.world•Art of Theodor KittelsenEnglish
15·15 days agoExcellent choice of works to share with the world. Just a note: the top one among the various trolls is actually Draugen (also referred to as a sea troll), an undead spectre or revenant of a sailor who died and drifted away at sea, never to be buried in Christian soil. Seeing one would be a very ill omen of certain doom for seafarers.

Political Memes@lemmy.world•Happy Liberation Day to those that celebrate.
20·18 days agoThe UK is like Europe’s super-depressed brother who said he’s leaving and never coming back. We still love you, and the door will always be open if you want to come home.

Political Memes@lemmy.world•Happy Liberation Day to those that celebrate.
50·18 days agoMost of Europe is working hard to have as little to do as possible with the US going forward. It’s like an embarrassing cousin who can’t stop causing drama at family gatherings.
Seeing the news about today’s pointless announcement from the turd-in-chief, I was thinking this exact thing.
Or maybe people should learn to be a bit more critical of what they spend their time watching.
Asmongold, the literal personification of a trash can. Don’t look him up, life’s better spent without knowing of his existence.

Political Memes@lemmy.world•ACAB, even the free speech police
33·20 days agoI would much rather prefer that if people don’t like to curse or use vulgar language, they use richer vocabulary instead of masked versions of the vulgarities they don’t want to utter in public. People can be insulted and degraded in the most beautiful ways, and it’s a marvel to behold.
Oh my, don’t tread on this snake, he scaaary. So how far have you gotten on your “make the world a better place”-project? Do tell.

World News@lemmy.world•Justin Timberlake’s DWI arrest video is released despite his attempt to block itEnglish
8·29 days agoUmm, yes. If you rob a bank while being drunk, you’ll get a public intoxication charge slapped on with the rest of the charges.
My Italian coworker at my old job was a big fan of pineapple on pizza. The ones who screech the loudest about people “doing it wrong” are normally a minority and suffer from insecurity and lack of knowledge.

science@lemmy.world•Turning sawdust into fire-resistant materials— What is usually burned to generate energy today could protect houses tomorrowEnglish
8·1 month agoProblem is that there’s no single solution to building materials, as the materials’ properties depend greatly on the local climate. Wooden houses are very breathable and can last hundreds of years with proper maintenance, but are only really suited for drier climates, such as Scandinavia and other parts of northern Europe. Brick is solid and more fire-resistant, but needs carefully designed ventilation (just look at the damp old houses in the UK and southern New Zealand). Metal parts are great for structural strength, but are at risk of corroding if they’re used near the sea. In the US, you could compare houses in f.ex Arizona, Louisiana and Washington. Panels made of straw and sawdust could be great in some areas, but in some other areas (tropics, for example), they would most likely be unusable.

Real-world unhinged behaviour. I haven’t made a single statement about Hilary Clinton since we started. The only one who seems to be obsessed and dominated by her is you, poor man.
