I’d assume that there’s actually more virgins between 18-30 nowadays, though. Loneliness might not be a specifically male epidemic, but it certainly is a societal epidemic in most western countries.

Wie oft putzt du deinen Reinsprudler so?

Ich trinke meistens Leitungswasser, Sprudel kaufe ich eigentlich nur für Mischgetränke.
Browsing reddit would be quite pathetic, indeed.
rumschlumpel@feddit.orgto Comic Strips@lemmy.world•If You Needed to Pass an Exam to Vote1·22 hours agoIntelligent people are not omniscient or universally unbiased. Just because they’re capable of doing a difficult job well, speak eloquently or excel in IQ tests doesn’t mean they won’t fall for political fallacies, aren’t xenophobic etc…
That kind of sounds like we won’t need it anymore if we’re developed enough to be able to implement it well.
Arguably the educated and intelligent are more likely to profit from fascism (to an extent), anyway - they’re going to do the oppressing, while most workers are going to be on the ‘being oppressed’ side.
Even people who are actually smart buy into fascism, though. It’s not just a question of dumb vs intelligent, but of ethics.
There are certain things like voting that should have bare minimum entry requirements. (Proof of ID, lack of felony charges)
IMO, felony charges are another tool of deliberate voter disenfranchisement, since the US justice system is clearly racist and has a shit ton of convictions compared to the EU (most countries, really - the US prison population per capita is one of the highest in the world). Lack of felony charges should probably be a requirement for being elected, but at this point they might start trying to use it for this, too.

rumschlumpel@feddit.orgto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What famous people in history do you think would be disgnosed with autism if they lived in modern day?101·1 day agoI’d assume that he got that reputation because of that image. Once a person becomes a household name, the original thing that made them famous often becomes somewhat forgotten; it’s similar to how today’s memes work. As an example, I’ve been somewhat involved with pokemon online culture for over 10 years and knew about the nuzlocke challenge, but only today did I learn that it came from a webcomic. And I actually read a lot of webcomics, and the webcomic in question was pretty high quality.
rumschlumpel@feddit.orgto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What famous people in history do you think would be disgnosed with autism if they lived in modern day?641·1 day agoProbably a major amount of important scientists. Many are known to have been eccentric or downright socially inept; while social ineptitude can be a bit of a hindrance for becoming famous, eccentricity helps a lot with making people remember you. Do most people know Einstein because of his science, or because he’s visually distinct and has that wild photo with his tongue out?
Yeah, I’m sure most people use oral condoms / dental dams when they’re going down on casual flicks.
Das war ausführlicher als erhofft, danke! Hätte angesichts der Preise für importierte japanische Güter nicht gedacht, dass die Urlaubs-Lebenshaltungskosten in Japan so niedrig sind.

Always, always backup. And frequently! Don’t trust your local harddrive (especially if it’s a device you frequently take with you), don’t trust flashdrives, don’t even trust your local fileserver if it doesn’t have built-in backups (and even if it does, check that those backups actually work). If it’s not saved on at least two physical places (two drives in the same PC/server count, but it’s sketchy on its own), it’s not backed up!
