Empty the cup and then count them all
Interesting. I’d like to know more about this if you can provide any further info (ex. what community or instance was the post on, how recently was the bot comment).
I’ve definitely seen a number of sus accounts but they’re usually few and far between, and oftentimes get addressed immediately. There is a problem with how bad actors can join so many different instances or create instances of their own to cause problems.
EDIT: I think I’ve found it. Doesn’t seem to be a full on bot account but the comment is AI slop that a human probably chose to comment for whatever reason
At least on Lemmy people are real
We may be generally in the clear right now, but don’t assume that any particular forum or social medium is immune to being hijacked by astroturfing or botting
The screenshot is from searching comments local to Lemmy.world. There are not three dots anywhere around the comment on that page. I’m also on mobile, and tapping a username to see their specific modlog actions apparently doesn’t work.
Devil’s advocate: maybe the original Reddit post was somebody asking about how to modify the USB ports in their motherboard and a concerned commenter replied something to the effect of “If you’re not careful messing with live electricity, you may kill yourself!”
I’ve seen this screenshot or similar ones before and people hadn’t been able to replicate the search results to find the sourced link.
Does there exist means to identify which deleted/removed post the comment in the screenshot was from or means to view that post as it was prior to its deletion/removal?
I think the post you saw on Lemmy must have gotten removed or deleted. This comment I found seems to be debunking the same post but the link button leads to a blank page. I do wish there was an archive of removed/deleted Fediverse content for reference purposes (with a reasonable level of censorship, such as omitting illegal content and personally identifying information). I think I saw another post on Lemmy of the same misinfo less recently than a day or two ago but I couldn’t find that post.
Affixing the link to the comment can definitely be improved. Though I’m not sure I exactly understand it not affixing to the correct letters. It should affix to the selection?
Previously, if the text with the link attached was too long, the last few letters of the text would not have the link attached. I’m not able to replicate this issue anymore so it might have gotten fixed.
However, if I add text with a link attached and press OK in the pop up box, and then afterwards type text that I do not want the link to be attached to, all text that follows has the link attached.
These are things that I couldn’t find any way to do in Blorp. It could be that they already are features but I just missed them or I ran into a bug. I’ve also not fully tested all of these with the newest app update.
• embed images in comments (this seems to be working with the newest app update)
• compact posts in feed
• remembering default sort for each community (as in, the app should remember that I want Community X to sort by New by default and I want Community Y to sort by Hot by default, and I want these to be independent of how the overall feed is sorted by default)
• block communities/users/instances (I think this was a bug; it seems to be working with the newest app update)
• attaching links in comments doesn’t always affix the link to the correct letters. It’s also annoying how the pop up box to add the text and link jumps upward when I tap on either text box to type (also, “Description” is misspelled).
• I’d like to be able to see the modlog for each community/instance/user (including myself) while within the app. I don’t think Voyager even has this feature.
• The search-within-a-community function seems to be broken on both Blorp and Voyager for Piefed and instead searches all of the Fediverse
• Voyager isolates each link within somebody’s comment at the bottom of the comment. This makes it easier to select the links and to see which text has which link.
Right now, Voyager doesn’t seem to properly block all NSFW posts for Piefed browsing (it works for Lemmy browsing), whereas Blorp does seem to work for that.
I appreciate your effort to make a better app experience!
Stone Temple Pilots’ Tiny Music… Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop came out in 1996
Works now, thanks!
The app tells me “Voyager doesn’t support signups via Piefed right now, apologies!”
It’d also be great if the Voyager app could support Piefed. I’m using the Blorp app as a compromise but it’s missing a lot of quality of life things that Voyager has.

I have, but we haven’t been able to find any particular issues with me that would be affecting that. Some of the possible causes seem to be environmental, like capitalism, problematic majority demographics, certain other people being jerks, and just bad luck.
I didn’t mean in the sense of having their approval for your own peace of mind. I meant them consenting to work with you in order for you to achieve an objective.
I mean a lot of my problems can be linked to paternal neglect and derision and Pedro is right there so…
