i gave all my friends pcs , perk of the job they all run mint . my friends parents pc was win10 and borked , asked them what they need pc for , web browser . mint . i dont even ask hahha . no complaints , my one friend thought it was windows.

i think i used 1 . add repoistory under settings not addons. ill check later on my tv which one i have. stremio addons work as well.

side note . if you like stremio try nuvio . it works 10x better for me . looks like a fork.

Mint is a good choice. It just works.

i like the idea of this OS but it seems overly complicated. i run a few apps and a script to remove copiolet and other stuff.

oh maybe , i dont use brave or ios , just know you can watch youtube videos in brave with no ads.

Brave browser has built in adblocking .

what phone did you buy then and how did you get rid of and or block google play services?

I bought mine from Telus … so i would think Telus gave them the money a long time ago for said phone and i’m just giving Telus back their money … now i’m not giving money or data to anyone.

I dunno i have put Mint on many computers including an 80 year old woman who just checks her email and news. No one ever has issues and i don’t get calls . I think Linux has a PR issue more than a “barrier” … I would say Mint “just works” great .

I ran this script to remove copilot and it installs a stub update to make it appear its still installed so M$ won’t try again… working so far.

I have two gmail accounts which i need for now but i check them with Thunderbird. I have to have Google play store and services on my phone because my banking app will not work without them, both stripped of permissions and no background data. I use Aurora store and F-Droid for everything else. All search engines at home and work changed to DDG or Ecosia. Organic Maps is ok , i read in this thread Comaps is good so i’m gonna try that. Firefox everywhere with either Brave, Ecosia or Chromium browser as backup.

I’ve heard of it but never tried. I’ll give it a go. can I get it on F-droid ?. I don’t use Youtube alot on my phone, I listen to the Wan show and do yoga every night haha Thank you!
