I just keep a shortcut to the NOAA 2day hourly forecast for my location on the home screen. If I need to see the radar it’s a few clicks away.
But I’ve got an air quality and temperature sensor on my back porch, and am working on a rain detector as well, so the preference is towards local conditions
The hint that the dog can’t spell is in the second panel

Get one of these Eink frames from waveshare. I have an older version without wifi, so i have to run a python script to e-inkify images on my laptop, copy to the SD card, put it into the frame, but the linked one doesn’t need that.
Since pi zero 2w is just a linux box, you can ssh into from remote and add/remove images from the folder that the screen shuffles through. Heck you could set up an cron job for the pi to hop onto your network and sync a folder on the nas.
And you can ignore the AI thing on this if you want, it’s a neat side thing, not integrated to the display functionality code.
Edit. Oh I didn’t see you wanted very large like 16 inch, I think big eink panels are outrageously expensive still

Does it support voice yet? Seemed to be very unclear to me, and that’s 90% of what I use discord for
I’ll second that I’ve been quite happy with my supernote, but it doesn’t exactly match the criteria. I also haven’t had to repair any part of it, so I have no experience what the process is like, they are a smaller company and might have parts sourcing issues

An enjoyable game, would recommend at this price, though you can get the dlc for an extra 65 cents, if you’re feeling rich.
I got an older version of one of these and put some opensource software on it. I did proxmox cause it runs a bunch of stuff, not just nas stuff.

Ya it’s wild what a boon having an extra block of time to oneself is. Some friends are looking for new jobs and we were chatting, but i couldn’t figure out how much better the pay would have to be to get me back to 5 days a week if I tried to get a new job.

Yep, i earn PTO hours as well, and i use less of it for random doctors appts and other “stuff that’s only open during work hours” so I have more for like, around Christmas/newyears or trips

I work in a billable hours type job, and thus took a pay cut when dropping to 90% but it gives me one full day off every two weeks, and it has been great. I have a day that is mine. I resolved not to do any recurring tasks on that day (no mowing the lawn or doing the groceries or stuff like that) so that it stays a day for me to do something interesting and new, or just hang around and decompress in a coffee shop somewhere. Very much reccomend.

I’d be more willing to have parking in the city if it was as dense as in that picture at the top of the article

We’ve tried nothing and we’re all our of ideas!
Gtfo, if you want to eliminate crunch, just don’t have them work more than 40 hours. It’s easy accept that youre gonna miss some deadlines, cause you fucked up the planning. Promise your workers triple pay during OT and suddenly the middle managers ain’t as motivated to try to force unofficial OT
The video I saw was saying cat into grep is totally fine in day to day life do whatever comes out of your fingertips naturally, but if you’re making a bash script for others to use, use grep args because cat pipe grep can do some strange stuff with error handling. Which I have no experience with, but sounds reasonable
Wow, what year is that picture from, McDonald’s with a playplace?! We wish things were as nice as they were then

They wrote what we’re all thinking!

There’s a couple online if you look around, but they’re all pretty small: Opire.dev oss.issuehunt.io/issues Boss.dev/issues/open And probably dozens more
And as a cautionary tale, look what happened to bountysource
You —(data)—> discord —(data)—> persona ----(your data) ----> openai and groq and anthropic and everyone else.
Hope that helps. If you want the other side of it about how you get money from selling your data to openai it looks like this: you don’t.
You ----(no money)---- discord ----(money)—> persona <----(money) ---- openai, anthropic, etc.
