    Diet Coke doesn’t react more strongly with Mentos. It’s just easier to clean up afterwards because the lack of sugar makes it less sticky.

      Diet Coke dosnt have sugar, which makes liquid thicker. Lower viscosity = CO₂ escapes faster. It also contains aspartame and potassium benzoate, which slightly lower surface tension and help bubbles form.

          I recall Mythbusters doing a thing on this as well testing other sodas and carbonated things. Diet Cike itself is a part of why there is such an energetic reaction.
