  • There’s The Intercept, Common Dreams, and The New Republic for article based news.

Zeteo does both articles and video.

As far as short form podcasts/YouTube shows go, there’s The Bitchuation Room and The Damage Report, for medium/long form there’s Some More News and Even More News.

And before you dismiss most of them because they’re clearly biased in favor of left wing viewpoints, I’m gonna remind you that your criteria was factual accuracy, which isn’t mutually exclusive with honest and transparent bias as long as your bias isn’t toward counterfactuality AKA lying.

Or put another way: we all have biases and the ones who are honest about them are generally much more trustworthy than the ones who try to hide them behind forced neutrality riddled with false equivalency.

  • Personally, I find the fact that they take pains to point out that it’s vegan and cruelty free the most offensive since

1: pointing it out kinda implies that they expect people to expect meat byproducts and cruelty from their perfumes and

2: the Venn diagram of people who would want a bacon perfume and people who are vegan and/or are actively conscious about animal testing and other cruelty associated with consumerism probably features infinitesimal overlap, if any 😄

  • Why isn’t that argument taken more seriously by people on the left as an implicit admission that the left is politically weaker or less effective at wielding power?

Because the Left doesn’t get to wield any power and the right wing Dems care more about not upsetting their owner donors and their friends than insignificant details like justice and the needs and wants of their constituents.

If one side “can’t get away with” actions that the other can, doesn’t that suggest a real imbalance rather than moral superiority?

It’s both and also a secret third thing:

Republicans are MUCH more brazen and shameless, MUCH more skilled at messaging, AND the right wing Dems in power would rather still get paid the big bucks than do their job, see above.
