If the US actually managed to push through constitutional changes, that might be a first step in rebuilding trust. Until then, everyone has to assume that it’s just a matter of time before there’s another Trump-like president. Historically, passing constitutional changes has been extremely difficult, so it’s no given that that can even happen in a reasonable time frame.
