I really should round over the tops of the uprights so they don’t absorb as much rain, but sealer would definitely help.
May want to sit it on some gravel or concrete then a standard 24 is not graded for constant ground exposure it’s going to rot quicker. You need something beefier like a 66 if setting in dirt.
are you going to stain it or put linseed oil on it? or just let it age?
It’s pressure treated and it’s going to sit out exposed 24/7, so it’s just going to turn grey :-(
Did you add pressure treat sealer to the cut ends? If not, I’d recommend doing so as it’ll add quite a few years of life to it.

Or just put a metal jar lit or something on it? Have seen this done on fence posts, which of course better fit the shape.
