I just use a Garmin and gadget bridge. I don’t bother connecting it to the internet or using it to look at text messages.
I have a fenix 6 and honestly it’s totally worth it. I plan to actually get whatever the new one is so I can ditch having a phone all the time. (call/sms/sat/gps)
Gadget bridge does have that functionality though.
I have a Garmin Instinct 3 but not familiar with gadget bridge. Need to look into that.
