The 43-year-old American rapper, who has almost 40 million monthly listeners on Spotify, announced his Free Palestine Tour on Thursday, with shows set to take place in Dublin, Paris and London in late October.
Macklemore said he will be joined by other musicians and will announce their names soon. He added that US shows are currently being organised.
He said all proceeds raised from the tour will be donated to causes supporting the Palestinian people and the wider movement.
“If these last couple of weeks have shown us anything, it’s that something has shifted over the last three years,” Macklemore said in a statement.
I’m not defending that talentless hack, I’m calling out people feigning ignorance of a major pop artist who gets constant airplay. Like most pop stars, he’s unavoidable.

I am telling you, I honestly don’t know who this douchebag is, and I’m not alone. Not everyone follows that garbage. I listen to blues, to jazz, to rock and roll, funk, mostly to electroswing. And all sorts of music that DOES NOT suck. Pop music DOES SUCK. With a few exceptions, I like some Michael Jackson stuff.
Again, this has nothing to do with the kind of music you listen to. Unless you’re living under a rock, you can’t avoid pop music. I don’t listen to pop, yet I know at least 2 or three of his songs. Everybody does.
