The idea that third parties steal votes is also a liberal myth. Your party members do nothing to earn our votes. If there were no third-party candidates on the ballot, we would still not vote for your neoliberal, right-wing, fascist candidates.
You are okay with perpetually being locked in an endless cycle of “having to” (even though you have other options) vote for the “lesser” (someone who does all the same as the republicans, just slightly more competently) evil forever?
The entire argument of voting for the “lesser” evil rests on focusing exclusively on the immediate issue at hand. You do not understand what short-sighted means.
Not voting or throwing your vote away hasn’t gotten us anywhere but farther right in decades either.
No, you’re thinking of voting blue no matter who. Making absolutely no demands of dems, voting for them no matter how abysmal they are and how little they do, is why we got where we are. Dems’ “pied piper” strategy is the reason we even have Trump.
Revolution isn’t a thing you do, it’s something you organize for and prepare for when crisis turns to revolution. That’s the primary focus of leftist action, not voting. Voting vs. organizing for revolution is kinda like building a sand castle vs. testing and studying rocketry if your goal is to get to the moon. Sand castles aren’t really hurting anything, but they aren’t helping either, so it’s more important to actually work on what matters.
No, and this is where the metaphor falls apart, because a revolution needs to be a mass movement. Not a coup. To put so much focus on voting is a privledge reserved for those not actively crushed by the system, at home or abroad.
And if people say that the only way to get to the moon is building a giant sandcastle, and refuse to help building the rocket, then that makes it that much harder to put food on everyone’s table, not just those not yet crushed.
Should we have chosen the greater evil?
I think we did a few times.
You should do the only thing that has historically made conditions better for the average person.
Violent revolution.
…Which is completely separate from voting.
Correct
There were always non-evil choices. Most people were too afraid of a non-evil world to pick them, though.

So you are okay with the greater evil winning instead of voting for the lesser evil?

Your lesser evil gave us trump, so no, my vote goes toward no evil
Actually they don’t. The democrats arent owed your vote, a third party isn’t stealing votes.
And they never will because of short-sighted people like you.

Right, because your strategy has been really successful. Just look at all the genocide we’re doing!
The point is that revolution is necessary, and electoralism is a dead end.
