Afghanistan and Iraq happened with the support of democrats and was worsened under democratic leadership. The current genocide in Gaza started under Biden. Roe v Wade was overturned under Biden. By domestic terror do you mean ICE? Tom Homan was appointed by Obama and Obama was the one to massively expand ICE.
Iran has been the target of the US empire for decades, Kamala Harris called it the biggest enemy of the US. She was just as fervent a supporter of Israel as Biden and Trump, and Israel pushing for the war is why its happening. There is no way of knowing what would have happened under a dem president, but we have all reason to assume she would have gone along with the war against Iran, just like Trump did.

Not really, because if people consistently choose the lesser evil. Like if 90% voted for lesser evils, then the other party would have to change things up, or there could be a new party that would have a chance of winning because they’re competing for that 90% of people and no way would the evil party win.

But no, problems isn’t choosing lesser evil, it’s that significant people still choose evil

The problem is that, despite people swearing they never had any other choice, there has always been many instances of good options that go unchosen while the population fights over voting for turbo-evil vs naturally-aspirated-evil.

Here in Canada we have three main parties and people will do ANYTHING to justify why they cannot vote progressive and must vote for the centrist/conservative party because otherwise the conservative-conservatives might get power. Now we have a banker steam-rolling our people and our environment for free.

I would vote third party, but nobody has done all the work of making me feel like there’s a good one for me so I guess I’ll keep voting for genocide. Im sure this will help change things.

remove all epstein classes from affecting any elections and they are banned from office forever after you get to 0.01% of population you are barred from any political influence and cannot buy any influence illegal and if found the penalty is all assets seized. next also almost all laws are made to restrict the epstein class first then everything else.

the goal is to minimize the uncontrollably large evils that is the epstein class.

The point is that revolution is necessary

It’s been necessary for decades… But revolution is a bloody nightmare that lays the groundwork for rebuilding. You are still going to need a government after the revolution and I’m yet to see any actual tangible plan for what that is that somehow precludes voting right now… It’s literally a form you fill out once or twice every four years.

At the risk of painting with too broad a brush, does this rhetoric not means that a lot of leftists have got one foot in the past looking at historic revolutions and one foot in the future dreaming of a revolution to come? And what do you think that means they’re doing to the present?

Revolution isn’t a thing you do, it’s something you organize for and prepare for when crisis turns to revolution. That’s the primary focus of leftist action, not voting. Voting vs. organizing for revolution is kinda like building a sand castle vs. testing and studying rocketry if your goal is to get to the moon. Sand castles aren’t really hurting anything, but they aren’t helping either, so it’s more important to actually work on what matters.

That “lesser evil” works well, you must admit.

So it’s all functioning as designed. BoTh PaRtIeS blame the other for their failures and lack of progress, neither could exist without their evil twin.

They have no actual platform other than wealth acquisition, those issues that they deem important for an election cycle are “bait”.

For example, Biden’s bait was “15 an hour”. The American voters took the bait and elected him; no minimum wage increase.

Trump’s bait was “no war”. The American voters took the bait and elected him, so… war.

Biden and Ds could have passed minimum wage bill easily. The “super majority requirement” is a parliamentary rule that can be changed whenever they would like with majority vote (they circumvent super majority all the time, see “exceptions to nuclear option”, like budgets)

Most American voters have no idea that this is so, and it works very well to deceive the majority of them right out in the open. Blatantly and repeatedly.

I vote every election, and you should too! It’s funny

And it’s weird that it’s Biden’s fault that no $15 minimum wage happened when a bunch of other shit did happen like student loan forgiveness and all that shit and a bunch of Democrats in the legislature kinda fucking suck and wouldn’t push for that shit, and it’s somehow equivalent to Trump literally declaring war, a thing that is 100% fully his fucking fault.

Always this false equivalency. Republicans are expected to be pieces of shit, but it’s the Democrats that should’ve done fifty times more work. Fuck off.

Ok then, so what’s your solution? I’m still gonna vote for the lesser evil, while still organizing and doing direct action, to reduce harm unless presented with an alternative.

Maybe a candidate that’s good? You could run for an office.

Edit: essentially I mean for the situation at hand, especially with this upcoming election, what else can we do?

The solution is Ranked Choice Voting. Anyone can run and voters rank all the candidates. So if you put Stein (for example) first and she doesn’t get enough votes, your vote then goes to your second choice, and so on. It lets you vote the way you really want it to go, not just strategically.

Ranked choice voting as a topic comes up every 2-4 years. Then no one does anything about it after the election is over.

If you want it so bad, do whatever you can to keep the conversation going between elections.

Ranked choice/instant runoff voting is not doing a lot for Australia. The “left” major party is centrist at best, the “right” major party is drifting further right and the only minor party of note is basically Nazis.

You just keep doing what the bumper sticker says, obviously. You vote for the red and they hit you and rob you, vote for the blue and they rob you nicely.

How is this hard for people?

Republicans do what they want and the Democrats ask us to vote for them a little harder and, eventually, they will be able to do something, as long as precedent isn’t broken, as long as it’s the “high road”, as long as it’s not something the parliamentarian can override, etc…

      currently,

-hakeem is secretly meeting with kushner. He is also taking Thiel money and setup and AI “regulations committee” with other Dems who take Thiel money.

-AIPAC Dems are funding AIPAC Republicans over actual left candidates

-tammy duckworth says that we shouldnt impeach and should work WITH the traitornazirapistpedophilicwarcriminals.

Can you please explain to me how voting for the “lesser” evil is helpful?

Whatever side you are on, unless it is the billionaires, the USA dies when Elon was allowed to take every bit of our most sensitive data and secrets. We are talking about the Pentagon, OPM, and Social Security. Unknown foreign agents with ILLEGAL access, downloaded it all to external servers and I stalled AI and code.

On top of this, our government has been revealed to be a majority of foreign paid agents from Israel that have blackmailed the worst of our politicians into doing their bidding.

These tech Nazis have been given actual military units and ranks, and now Palmer Lucky and Elon Musk will be overseeing killing, autonomous drones that may or may not have nukes.

We lost, we aren’t voting our way out of this

So people who don’t vote actually dont endorse a candidate. This is a bit of an advanced piece of politics, but the way voting in the US works is you vote for a candidate and if you dont vote for someone, then they dont get your vote.
Your logic rests on an assumption that the democrats are owed your vote, which they aren’t. Had Harris won, then you wouldnt be saying the people who didnt vote passively endorsed her, but they would have done that just as much.
Those who don’t vote are in fact doing the opposite of endorsing anyone, they are signalling apathy with the system.
