I was thinking of Derry Girls for a moment, and that mashup could be AMAZING.
The IT movie came out in 2017.

Their timeline had to account for an appropriate number of shelvings, cancellations, and tax write offs before they could go into final production. Given that this premiere date is over a month away, there’s still a non-zero chance that they could shelve the episodes until the internet begs them enough to release it in black and white and totally unhinged.
Part two came out in 2019.
Still more than half a decade, but a little closer at least.
I love seeing how much milk can be furiously wrung out of any single idea. Keep milking!!! I reckon there’s gotta be, what… Three more films, then an animated trio of films, back to a “live action” film for a reboot… Maybe this series, a couple of spin offs, a pre-prequel series… God who knows, we could be enjoying the PennywiseCU for the next century!
