But I thought we hated cancel culture?
Are… are you telling me that the right wingers are all selfcentered hypocrites?
“It’s not cancel culture when we do it.”
The only moral cancel culture is my cancel culture.
Something, something, cancel culture IRL started with disco record burning and the Satanic Panic.
Something, something, online cancel culture started with 4chan harassment campaigns, some of which were made to show teen girls that “actions have consequences” (read: slut shame them until they committed suicide, so 4chan people could post “An Hero” memes).
Remember the Dixie chicks
it is, but because “the left” has done it for years, decades even, maybe even centuries, it’s fair to do it back at them
edit: i thought “centuries” would be over the top enough, but i guess not any more, so, to clarify, /s
When has the right been threatened by the government?
“Cancel culture” has existed for as long as culture has existed. It has been practiced by essentially everyone at some point, for virtually every reason under the sun.
We have called aspects of it boycott, exile, capital punishment/execution, mob rule, etc. I know those are all terms with their own meanings, but they also overlap to certain extent with what we call “cancel culture”.
Wait, so cancelling is good now? Dear MAGA, please make up your fucking minds.
And, y’know, grow a spine.
Patiently waiting for consistency from Republicans
Old news: the “fuck your feelings” crowd operates entirely based on feelings and not facts. Truth will be distorted to keep them from feeling shame or humiliation
This is a lot more sinister than “cancel culture”. Cancel culture was when someone with a platform expressed a bigoted opinion, gained a lot of attention, and caused a backlash.
What these people are doing is actively and openly organising to encourage others to seek out, denounce and victimize anyone anywhere who doesn’t toe the line. It’s a modern-day Stasi.
For right-wing authoritarians, hypocrisy is a power-move. That’s how they prove to you that they have more power than you within society.
MAGA’s bein pretty woke these days…
Apparently cancel culture has been resurrected.
Going to college campuses and indoctrinating kids there is also cool now to them.
They were upset conservatives didn’t have the magic orb of cancelling.
We’ve received over 150,000 site submissions in the past 24 hours. We need 50 - 100 volunteers to help us verify and publish. In addition, thousands of people are trying to destroy the site with abuse complaints, DDoS attempts, bot farm spam emails, and more. If you can help us verify submissions, please message us on the SUPPORT tab. Thank you.

Protip: If you don’t have to record yourself screaming the N-word and provide your personal details, you can infiltrate them and destroy them from the inside.
Yup. That’s the playbook. DDoS this service by:
- Generating fake tweets and reporting them.
- Volunteering to fact check and do a bad job, actively sabotaging their data.
- Gathering information to doxx the people who run the site.
Bonus points for turning the wrath of this mob against MAGA types themselves.
Most of the hate seems to involve just quoting things he’s publicly said.
Because the truth hurts: Charlie Kirk was a sack of shit whose entire livelihood and career revolved around spreading hate and facilitating violence.
Buh buh buh , his wife and kids!!! He was a religious man and was bringing back faith!!!
No he was a radical right wing racist who got famous by being hateful and spreading lies and propaganda. Most of the world didn’t even know he had a family, so it’s irrelevant at this point.
I hate the ‘he had a family’ line. Does that mean killing single men and women or people who never married makes it somehow OK? Like if Charlie Kirk was both single and celibate and said he was ‘married to his principles and mission’ (with no indication of being a closeted gay man or asexual) would that have made his murder more acceptable?
Countless evil people were married and had kids. Stalin was known to be a doting father. Saddam was also known by his children as a very kind and affectionate father. Roy de Mayo, one of the most infamous mafia hitmen, had a family and his family life was so quiet and unremarkable that his children had absolutely no idea whatsoever that their father killed people for a living (and his son had a nervous breakdown when he saw the movie Murder Machine in the early 90s, which was about his then dead dad).
Agreed. Besides, if these people were concerned with what their children thought, they should’ve factored that in when making their decisions. The truth can’t hide forever (in the case of that last story), and the others (including Kirk) made their awful words and deeds public. If they never stopped to think, “What would my kids have to say about what I’m doing?” then why should it suddenly be our concern?
Sorry your daddy was a piece of shit that didn’t care about the legacy or how it would reflect back on his children, but there’s no whitewashing what he publically stood for.
Kids of figures like Kirk have multiple possible outcome. Firstly they could just be their own person, live their own lives and not necessarily have anything to do with their father’s legacy. Second they could actively speak against what their father stood for, or they could walk in his footsteps and continue the hate.
Well, in all fairness, that’s pretty extreme stuff to repeat.
Pro tip: Nobody has to joke about his death.
In fact, we can all be in support of his message: that gun deaths are “worth it”, including his. 💁♂️
the thing is, joking about his ironic death is the most fair game thing there is, as it has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not you liked or disliked him, or agreed or disagreed with his messages
fair game
In a rational world, absolutely.
But you’ve gotta play the game when Team Nazi wants to get you fired.
Anyone that is not betraying their country and country men should keep their mouths shut at work, and online in a way that could be explicitly read as against these guys. There is a way to criticize them satirically while sounding like you were agreeing with them and not communicating you are using satire. For a lot of people that would be the best option here.
There’s nothing ironic about it. He provided solid evidence in support of his point.
What bothers me most is that the left is getting both the blame for doing it, and criticism for doing nothing.
For the time being we certainly at least still seem to be allowed, legally, to joke about it. That said…
Worried about Stewart & Colbert & those kinds of folks. Imagine 0.00[…]1% of the deranged out there would be incensed by humor about “their” guy so I personally might not find the average joke at Kirk’s expense to be worth it. (Logic: political commentator on right is killed, those on left make jokes, guy on right gets super upset and kills a late night host on the left in part b/c a straw broke the camel’s back)
On the side of those were alive I like speaking truth to power. For those who are no longer alive I like remembering their character (e.g. “purported free-speech proponent, marred by alleged issues of intellectual honesty, …” or something).
btw
btw hopefully I personally living in a way simply “remembering my character” isn’t offensive/shocking
I would rather joke on the irony and not support his message.
I get where you are going, but even ironical support for those people cause is prone to backfire.
Their entire party is now built on hate. These people will sacrifice anything to support their hate. They are literally using hateful actions to support the memory of a hateful person. It’s just hate all the way down.
These are the people who hung effigies of Obama being lynched in their trees.
I still don’t get how there are so many of them. It takes so much emotional energy to be that angry.
its extremely stressful, also its an addiction to.
That’s what the meth is for.
My mom and step dad are raging alcoholics. The further they fell into alcoholism, the more their love for Trump grew.
They pop open their first Modelo (irony is dead) around 9am, at the latest.
He definitely radicalized her over the years (been married on and off for 18 years), and has started physical fights with me since I was a kid. She never really defended me, and put him over me when they got married. She is a librarian, and used to be a 7th grade English teacher. I hate that she’s influencing children every day.
They can rot in Alabama.
If it’s any consolation, such teachers aren’t usually student-favorites. Apathetic teachers are boring, while teachers with angry energy or who use their position for powertrips (as MAGA enjoys doing) make kids uncomfortable. It’s the teachers with patience and open minds that tend to be the most influential and remembered. If your mom acts the same way at work as she does at home, it’s hard to imagine the kids would choose her (out of everyone) as their role model.
As a non-American, what’s the irony here? Mexican beer?
If so, I think “those types” have no qualms about Mexicans existing as long as they produce slightly cheaper goods and good beer in their own country - they just want the ones in the US to all die as soon as possible.
Another bit of irony is that they likely complain about an “open border”.
Thought experiment; under what circumstances should a Mexican brewer be able to sell their sweet beverages into the United States? At the border, standing on tiptoes to hand a case of bottles over a wire fence, to receive dollars back from an American trader? Or, maybe shall we allow a system by which anyone can apply for permission to enter for trade needs…?
Oh, but that would be an open border; because then people could apply, and then just choose not to go back. Hmmm. It’s a really interesting problem!
This is absolutely true, and the craziest part is that half of them don’t even know they’re supporting bad stuff (they think they are good people, but they are hopelessly ignorant and passively racist with no desire to change) while almost none of them seem to realize that they are the ones making themselves miserable all the damn time. (speaking from my personal experiences/acquaintances)
Hate and negativity in every little nook and cranny of life. The kind of thing that makes people into dangerous and aggressive drivers when they are in no hurry to get anywhere.
Funny how they talk like hippies when it’s about them and like nazis when it’s about anyone else.
Lmao so glad I work in an industry that wouldn’t give a flying fuck if I danced on that Nazis grave. It would actually provide quite joy to watch them screech over failing to try to get me fired haha.
Which industry is that?
Cannabis.
So the plan is to identify people who find joy in the appropriate treatment of a fascist and then get them fired from their jobs. Some will take it on the chin and move on, sure, but others might find a bunch of new free time in their schedules plus a fresh axe to grind and decide they have nothing left to lose. Couldn’t possibly backfire.
You can report cancelthehate.com for illegal content (doxing) at their registrar: https://cas.godaddy.com/Form/contentcomplaints?plid=1
Or we could use it to organize meetups and make friends (maybe some non-shitty employers could find people with a sudden need for a new job?) who aren’t fence-sitters on the subject of evil.
It’s a bad idea and one I’m not serious about but would be a funny unintended consequence.
people already reporting on reddit, mostly teachers are getting fired over this. really smart move from school district suffering from shortages.
Further destroying education is always part of the plan.
Heres the URL. Feel free to spam https://cancelthehate.com/express-concern
Send them emails titled “this guy is really harming the reputation of Charlie Kirk” with links to clips of Charlie Kirk.
Hm, looks like they also need volunteers to “verify” the submissions
can’t even connect to it on ff because they used a self signed cert
edit: or chrome, for that matter.
i looked up their mx records, they use outlook as their email provider.
It should, then, be possible to spoof their own email address if you send from an open mail relay. spoofed address may look something like abuse@cancelthehate.onmicrosoft.com or something to that effect. it would look like an actual email from their own email server.
edit: this is not legal advise, and is only for educational purposes. or something, idk.

Cancel the Hate
How weird is it that your group is named after what happened.
Sounds like just the kind of place that we definitely shouldn’t flood with false reports.
I assume you mean false reports about prominent Republicans or known supporters
That would be an absolutely awful thing to do, and you totally shouldn’t.
I’m sorry, but, are you implying that they care if the reports are false or not? The fascist don’t even care if they hurt their own followers.
This information isn’t going to be used for anything on a large scale. They literally have control of all social media through their loyal oligarchs. This is nothing more than for uniting their followers in hate against anyone that might even slightly speak out against them. This is for the people doing the reporting. Not for the people actually being reported.
It’s a way to manufacture concent for the state suppression on speech and the state violence. Something that these fascist were handed the moment the blood started shooting out of kirks neck. The people they want to target were already on their list long before then though.

You know, there was a couple of authoritarians that used tattling to suppress dissent.
The USSR and Nazi Fucking Germany. And CCP.
That’s where we are now. We’re ruled by children.
This is what happens when children gain power.
Don’t forget
NorthBEST KOREA, where everyone is happy and well fed because of all the fasting the dear leader doesThis is what happens when children ignore the elephant in the room and refuse to vote or can’t rub a few brain cells together to determine why voting 3rd party in a presidential election is meaningless.
The more advanced nations just debank you instead or arrest you for tweets. Tattling implies waiting for someone else before leaping into action. Come on now.
Sounds like a lot of companies are going to lose their best workers and those workers are going to leave a job that never gave them a raise and find a job paying them 1/3 more than they were making.
