it IS bullshit. nothing has happened. everything they say is bullshit until they actually do it. reporting on their bullshit has always been bad, but the last few weeks of this ““feud”” in particular have been a special blend of it

I want politics in my feed, though, just specifically not these two doing nothing! I have no idea how a filter like that would even be implemented (other than people just not posting them, lol) but I mean mahgawd.

Like, I thought about trying to filter out certain bluster-y keywords like “threatens, blasts, tweets, on X” but there are a lot of situations where even a statement can have consequences. I wanna know when minorities get blamed for insane bullshit again, or when nuclear war gets threatened again, or when someone is calling for peace talks again. Tariffs getting delayed for the 80th time is still gonna affect how things are getting priced.

But this nonsense where Trump say Musk bad, Musk say Trump bad, while neither of them have taken any actions against each other? No funding cuts to Musk companies, no investigations, no arrests. No specific opposition candidates being funded (if this even happens it’ll still be a Republican), no DOGE backpedaling, no changes to Twitter, no re-banning Trump. just fucking god why who the fuck cares about any of the shit theyve said about each other over the last, what? 3 weeks???

… it continues to be all bluster. I swear we’re gonna get reports on the absolute nothing stories of these two talking shit until the end of time. God I wish I could somehow filter out these posts until something actually happens

This is literally why they’re doing it. Government makes simply existing illegal for a huge class of workers so companies abuse them as much as they want while they’re too scared to call for help, no matter how bad it gets. Bonus points if the general population hates them too so even publicity doesn’t matter. (Hey, totally unrelated, isn’t it great how convicts are so heavily vilified for life?) I know the phrase is way overused, but The Cruelty Is The Point isn’t (only) about how psycho some of these people are, it points to how they’ll do anything for money.

In the end, though, this a great way for gangs gain power. People aren’t going to stop calling for help, they’re going to stop calling the police for help. I guess the party of law and order would love a good crime wave.

I mean, it’s New York. Pretty much all cities are left leaning, especially in the context of how far right US politics have gotten, but New York in particular has a strong movement. I mean, they gave us AOC, too. I’m not sure if even LA with all these protests is going to have a legacy that strong, though Mamdani isn’t the mayor yet.

But for the politicians competing for gerrymandered districts where the mass of rural, Fox-watching morons control the outcome (aka most of them), opposing the genocide is still a tough sell. Just being not-a-Republican is basically a death knell for any of those campaigns.

Not in their minds. Making something good would cost more this quarter. Might make more profit when the game comes out, but that probably takes years and requires hiring talented game designers, so instead they choose to make a cheap game now and release it to the same type of people who buy Madden every year.

I mean, look at Halo Infinite. Guarantee the execs are wishing they’d released some garbage like a year after Halo 5 instead of spending all that time just to make it passably okay. I doubt that quarter’s sales numbers would be significantly lower.

Yeah, the fact that they’re all so anti-voting and/or “both sides”-y is why I think the root of most of the tankies’ thinking is Chinese propaganda. Like, just because you vote for someone doesn’t mean you are 100% aligned with everything they say. Or even 50% of it. Just means you’re more aligned with them than the other option. The only people who could possibly benefit from such a stupid mode of thought are part of authoritarian governments.
