Not the answer OP expected but the correct one. Doing strictly nonwork things at work can get you noticed in a bad way. I’ve had good and bad IT jobs and it’s really amazing how a bad job can drive bad behaviors and a good job do the opposite.

Don’t know if it’s planned obsolescence or just laziness but all of my Nintendo Switches have at least a little drift and I’ve bought at least two replacement sets of joy-cons AND replaced just the joystick on one unit (PITA and replacements didn’t work 100% so I stopped repairing).

I’ve been successful in replacing built-in batteries in 2 different phones. Granted my families phones are all > 4 years old so maybe it’s gotten much harder lately.

Agree. My jeans have been wearing out at the knees within a couple years and I’m middle-aged so I’m NEVER on my knees for more than a few seconds. Apparently they’re averse to bending. 🤨

DHL contacted me about unpaid duties. At first I thought it was a scam given that I’ve never had to before and I didn’t recall any recent foreign purchases. Did some digging and the fees are legit. Well… somewhat legit. I should’ve been charged ~33% of the purchase price (flat fees included) for my item but the duties were actually more than the item itself! I asked the seller if they could help correct the “miscalculation” but chances are high I’ll eat the shipping costs (to send it back) and never see the item.

Guns are still cheaper than healthcare.
