Oddly one of the more coherent transcriptions I have read of his.

Not sure how that was misinterpreted there. Basically the exact initial core definition of it. The belief that nothing fundamentally matters, the values of life in general are cosmically irrelevant, that coupled with the idea that humans are a plague on the planet. Should the population become halved or eradicated by diseases that could have been prevented, I wouldn’t protest.
But it was a tongue-in-cheek comment, on the internet, on a random post on a little used social media platform.
Curious what the end game is here. What is ultimately driving the desire to effectively accelerate preventable diseases? The nihilistic side of me is on board, but the realistic and empathetic side of me simply cannot spin a single positive goal out of it.
I guess it’s the whole MAGA “it doesn’t have to make sense, it just needs to stay on message” thing.
Crazy
It’s another example him being in a no-win position. No answer to his situation is acceptable.
It seems to happen pretty frequently. He is either engaging in completely reprehensible behavior, or he is so hopelessly clueless to everything around him that he should never be considered for serious responsibility. There is no positive light that can be shed.
That is very true. My comment certainly wasn’t a knock against anyone who can’t travel. The value proposition for travel to that extent is a hard sell to someone living paycheck to paycheck. The first time my wife and I went to Europe was largely on credit cards (we were young and paycheck to paycheck as well). We had to give up many comforts over the following years to pay it off.
The relative geographic isolation here is a major hurdle, and while the internet should be a great tool to discover what potential we have (like not going bankrupt after falling ill), it’s just as useful for big money to control the narrative.
It seems like most Americans barely leave their own state, let alone a country that isn’t Mexico or Canada. Having spent a fair time in most European countries, political discussions with locals typically involve how skewed the US perspective is on liberal/conservative views. Like calling Biden or Harris radical leftists. JFC. It’s embarrassing that people actually believe that. The brainwashing here is crazy.
Best tip, get real handy in the kitchen.
Been vegan 25+ years and there is no way in hell i could afford to eat out for half my meals. There are tons of decent cheeses for different uses (and a ton of crap cheeses, but it’s subjective). I get Myokos regularly at my local grocery outlet.
Trader Joe’s has some rectangular crusts that are rad. Try to recreate the vegan buffalo sauce they discontinued with roasted broccoli and some sort of mock chicken nugs. Pesto with olives sun-dried tomatoes and Violife Parmesan is killer too.
You can make cheese yourself too. Lots of recipes out there. Some are cashew based, some are oat milk and lean on nutritional yeast (a bit heavily). My nacho cheese recipe can be Yukon potato, onion, pickled jalapeño and carrot (among other things) and is slammin’. Grab some vegan lactic acid to add a tang to your recipe. Just don’t go too heavy on the nutritional yeast. Gets bitter. Oh and mind the milk. Go as neutral as possible and don’t forget the fats/oils.
There are crazy options nowadays compared to when I started. It’s pretty neat. Especially abroad. Europe has become very friendly to plant-based diets.
Just don’t expect everything to be 1:1. It’s going to be different, but in a way that will become increasingly fulfilling.
Creatine and B12 is good to take as a vegan too. Greens have enough iron to get by. I only take creatine and work out regularly. Never had a worrisome blood test. Just generally eat well, not convenient. You can have a crap diet as a vegan too.
Apologies if that wasn’t a particularly structured response. It’s hot AF out and the beer isn’t helping me think.
Cheers, and welcome aboard
