In what universe did they lose the war on drugs? Marijuana never got rescheduled. People still get their lives ruined over it. It’s impossible to consume cannabis and be gainfully employed at the same time in the US and a sickening majority of people STILL believe this is how things should be. Corporations collude together to make sure they’re all using the exact same drug testing procedures so that really valuable people can’t just decide to go somewhere that treats them better. Yet they do nothing to fight with or systematically harm people who consume alcohol when off duty or come into work hungover.
All the states with lower costs of living are still allowed to put people in jail for possession. And people fight to keep it this way. They made Florida ballot initiatives need a 60% to pass just to defeat the recent marijuana amendment and NO ONE FUCKING CARED. This is far from “losing” the war on drugs.
I will never understand the obsession around computer-crashingly good graphics. They push your temps to the max and computer components don’t start throttling themselves until the temps are a little too high so that your shit will stop working sooner so you have to buy a new gpu sooner. Pixel art isn’t a necessarily a positive selling point to me but if the game is good and the graphics are good enough to be able to tell what’s going on without having to get high on drugs first, then its fine by me. Ps2 or xbox 360 era 3d graphics are the sweet spot though. I’m glad they finally added actual graphics to Dwarf Fortress, it’s actually playable now. If the msdos installation process has better graphics then a game then that’s pushing things little too far imho.

Wow I would never admit “recreational” drug use of any kind to any medical professional. Many years ago I admitted to smoking marijuana to my doctor and it turned into a major catastrophe. They threatened to report me to law enforcement for using illegal drugs and kept extorting me with bogus bills for months afterwards. I never trusted any medical professional again. The Windows file explorer is so goddamned inefficient it’s astounding. For example if you have a directory open and you need to open a second window with the parent directory and put it right next to the current one, it takes less than 2 seconds to set that up with Nemo and it could probably be faster if I actually used a tiling window manager.
The same situation, I timed it, takes TWELVE (12) seconds to accomplish in Windows 10, even with a dedicated gaming gpu and drivers which avoids all the stupid lag when managing open windows and clicking on stuff. How the FUCK do people effectively do ANYTHING on windows involving files? It’s mind boggling to think Windows is the preferred OS for game development, a process where you do this type of thing CONSTANTLY. Fuck.
Does Microsoft even do their own software development on Windows? Even a well-tuned Linux file manager is still reasonably difficult and mentally taxing when you have to do a lot of file management with ADHD but Windows is on an entire different plane of shittiness.
GUYS. Linux is stupid because there’s no way to get LEGO Star Wars Skywalker Saga NPC Spawner mod to work. Maybe it fails because there isn’t a way to get DirectX SDK installed in protontricks but some mods work without this anyway. I’m going to go back to Windows Vista as GOD intended. Or maybe Windows Longhorn.
