Conservatism is about slowing change. Change causes fear in those who are not adequately prepared to meet it. This is a symptom of someone who is mentally unhealthy. The level of fear is proportionate to the overall level of mental health.

All that to say: I think those with disorders are more likely to be conservative, but to a certain level conservatism is healthy.

MAGA on the other hand? That deserves to be seen as a disorder, imo.

I honestly don’t know enough about the Chinese economy to have much of an opinion of it. I was just trying to make a joke because what you described is still authoritarian capitalism to some level, even if it’s working.
